Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy angrily threatened Tuesday to issue subpoenas "if the White House continues to stonewall" his panel's investigation into fired U.S. attorneys, and he said he was "deeply troubled" by what he called White House efforts to "manipulate the Department into its own political arm.

I really do love Patrick Leahy. Anyone who goes after corruption and scandal this hard, is my type of Senator.

I just hope this all leads to the eventual resignation of GOON-zales. He should have been GONE-zales a long time ago. When he stands there and actually says that he continues to "serve the American people" it's enough to make me ill. The entire Justice department needs a house cleaning and I'm glad to see Leahy leading the charge.`

Bravo for Leahy. Maybe this will lead to some justice for a change.

I'm wondering now if Bush will pardon Libby!

"Anytime we're doing anything in a pre-election situation ... we want to make sure we don't go off half-cocked," Schlozman said.

God will see to it that maybe they do go off "half-cocked".

          Now wouldnt that be justice?

Excellent. It took time in the Nixon case too, but truth finally won out. The Bush administration is going to be tough to investigate. They keep so much secret and when asked for records under the Freedom of Information act, 75% of the time they claim the info is lost, nonexistent, or simply won't be they don't want to release it.

Bear in mind, the FIA is the law. So the Bush Administration chooses to defy the law 75% of the time on this. It will take an all-out effort to get to the bottom of all their malfeasances in the 19 months they have remaining in their term.
