"However, the president will certainly exert pressure to support the attorney general, his longtime friend," Schumer added. "We will soon see where people's loyalties lie."

I propose a no confidence vote on everyone in DC. Start with Kennedy, then Schumer, then Hillary, then Pelosi.

No ... move Reid ahead of Pelosi. Then ...

To me, the most appalling of all is the midnight visit to the bedside of Ashcroft to try to get a signature for what he had already been told was illegal.

If the No Confidence Vote is the best they can do, then they should all vote it unanimously! With the performance that man did in the hearings, if it doesn't show him a liar, then it shows an incompetent that has no business holding onto that position.

Obviously the dems in the Senate are once again trying to steer our eyes away from what they are'nt doing, by crucifying someone who has fired 1/16 of the people Clinton did. Maybe Gonzales should resign, that way they could no longer pretend they are getting something done, and actually do some work.

He tried his best to do the bidding of his bosses, like most of us do. However few if any have any confidence in him. A no confidence vote is justified. In presiding over the justice dept. his performance has to be considered as feeble, flawed & frail.

aniokly: It is about time the Democrats got to work on what we sent them there to do--clear out the right wing perverters of all that is good and important about government. That has nothing to do with sex in the White House. That has been going on as long as it has been occupied, and some of the best Presidents have been womanizers, starting with Jefferson who was the only one young enough to enjoy a good romp with Dolly Madison--unless Washington was doing Betsy Ross. So what. They knew better than to corrupt the Justice Department with the likes of Ms Goodling from Regency pseudo law school and Gonzo the Corrupt who has been trying to bury the Constitution for the right wing neo-CONS!

The only really corrupt maladministrations in history have been Republicans after Teddy Roosevelt--starting with the corrupt Taft!
