This is really an article for politics, not religion, but what the heck. It's a good summary of why Iran doesn't trust us; that is, it's a good summary unless you've been drinking the neo-con koolaid.

We consider Iran (not the Iranian people) to be our enemies. Do you think it could be because they stormed our embassy and held 50 Americans for 444 days? Sounds like a good reason to consider them an enemy.

"the U.S. has been paranoiac and defensive in its foreign policy" And the gov. of Iran has been rational and good? We have every reason to be cautious of the radicals of the this government that ignores the aspirations of its own people in favor of radical Islam.

And then there's this continuing misinformation regarding the overthrow of the 50s "democratic" government. The elected ruler turned out to be a low level dictator with no intention of holding another election. (The old one man - one vote - one time.) Even the Ayatollah Khomenei praised Allah for the defeat of this 'democrat'. People forget that Hitler was elected as well. Was WWII the overthrow of a 'democratic government'?

I posted this story here because I wanted people to see that we don't trust other religions, especially anything to do with Islam, while we have our own radical christian right supporting a government that's very similar to that of Iran in the 80's when religion took over the government. Make sense?

What I find ludicrious is US telling the world that we have to stop Iran from going nuclear and if they don't stop we'll nuke em. And US are the good guys?

Nuke them, or, help the opposition in Iran to over-throw a guy who believes he can bring back the 12th Imam, the future Mahdi, who disappeared down a well eons ago, but, can only be matterialized if he, the leader of Iran, nukes Israel?
