There's no doubt that Israel attacked the Liberty. However, the authors of this article are not exactly known to be even handed. Why the attack occurred, we'll never know and why the government may have covered it up, we will never know either. I do know one thing however, that these authors are not known to be friendly to Israel. This one sentence in the article sums up their attitude towards Israel "Predictably, Israel's first response was to blame the victim, a tactic that has served them so well in the Palestinian situation." And with this statement, as usual, Israel is blamed for their treatment of the Palestinians without a single sentence on the actions of the Palestinians which brings Israel's response. Don't take anything at face value, and this article is no exception. Yes, Israel did attack the USS Liberty 40 years ago. Why, we don't know. What we do know is that in 1967, the US and Israel did not have the relationship that they have now.

The attack on the Liberty was a false flag operation gone bad. Much like the bombing of the Patria. How many false flag ops have they pulled off successfully? We will likely never know.

Here is a definition of False flag operation- "False flag operations are covert operations conducted by governments, corporations, or other organizations, which are designed to appear as if they are being carried out by other entities". So, unless I am misunderstanding the definition, Israel didn't attack the Liberty, the United States did. According to definition, the United States had to have attacked the Liberty and it had to appear as if another entity, in this case Israel, was the attacker. I just read an article that the WTC on 9/11 was a false flag operation sponsored by Israel's Mossad using Osama Bin Laden who is in reality a CIA operative. 9/11 happened of course with the approval and help of the US government. Is it really necessary to insult the intelligence of millions of people just to promote a sick attempt at propoganda. Come on now, give us some credit for not being that stupid.
