June 8, 2007, 11:27 p.m.The general consensus of everyone I have spoken to and have listened to is that without the provision of habeas corpus, those rights enumerated in the Bill of Rights are effectively non existent.
It seems that simply having a right does not suffice for protection by it. Without the jurisdiction of a court to defend your rights, you have none.
It is time for Americans to decide. The coming vote on restoration of habeas corpus is all important. Will America remain a nation of Laws, or can it be hijacked by thugs with no respect for the rights of the individual?
Make no mistake, without the protection of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights you are nothing but slaves to whomever is powerful enough to force your submission or death.
I truly pray the American people will not allow their Liberty to be stolen from them.
