No New Jersey beaches? Surprising. I guess sewers do not count.

Doc Steve names Flem Park AKA Kapalua best last year and off the list this year? Did you fall off the wagon again and land on yer head Dr. Steve? Do a search on Kapalua. Then go there. Heaven on Earth. Also catch Montara during Mavericks. Hell on Earth. You will see men as we are. Bugs. Santa Cruz is a good family beach. Also lots of G strings. Surf the south end. Righteous.

I've been to beaches in Hawaii, the Mediterranean, Carribbean, and both coasts. None compare to Michigan's west coast in the summer time. And you don't even have to deal with salt water.

...The Coast Guard beach on Cape Cod was listed; however, there are much better beaches than that lil spig of sand along the Bay State's coastline...much better!!

What happened to the West Coast beaches? Laguna Beach, CA and Cannon Beach, OR are gorgeous!!! There appears to be a BIG "Florida Fixation'. As you-know-who would scream: "Mom; its not right!"

No matter what Beach you choose please take care in the sun. I think most sunblocks give a false sense of coverage and I find that clothing is your best protection as well as the mineral sunblocks. Happy bathing!!!!

Destin, Florida should have been in the top ten list. Just go to google for a picture and decide for yourself.

I wouldnt so much as visit a dieing relative on the east coast let alone visit one of thier beaches. The people suck, their nazi laws suck even worse, Between North Carolina's private armies and New York's supposed democrats I pray some other country nuks the east coast off the planet, I am just fine with california toilet water waves cuz the people here dont constitute the greater cess pool.

Only beaches that are any good are in Fl.Calif. and Oregon and New york etc.look pretty but you can't swim in the water,I went to San Diego in the summer and couldn't enjoy the swim water was freezin a** cold.Best place to swim and dive is Fl.Keys.A beach just isn't a beach unless the water is nice.

Anyone has gone trippin round the world with their papa he nalu knows that the peeps are just as much a part of a beach as the curls or the clarity of the water. Rincon in Puerto Rico, Bali, Ozland, SoCal, Hawaii and P.I. are a given as top 10 world wide. I don't know the lakes because I don't get roped behind a ride. Bushdickcolon, consider you acting just like the people you are bagging on. Keep your black hole negativity out of my Cali toilet water. The water is cleaner then your mouth.

Kayaman, It takes two weeks to adjust to cold water by swimming in it for longer and longer periods. Otherwise put on a suit. If you don't like the Latin Kings then don't buy crack after midnight. Cali gangs are like everywhere else. I do like diving at Jupiter but you never dove until you dive in a kelp field off Monterey with the sea otters. Not all diving has to be in a bath tub(i.e. hot, shallow water).

Ummm.... there is only one California beach listed. Maybe I'm bias -- but I think the California coastline is definitly filled with some of the best beaches in the world.

Hey, there's a glaring omission in that list. Where's Coney Island? I mean seriously, who doesn't like a little glass in their sand here and there?

Clearwater, Sarasota are both great beaches. On state hwy.19, the sponge capital of the world & great Greek Food in Tarpin Springs, Fl. it is a great side stop on the way to Clearwater & Sarasota.

Panama City Beach,Fl. (the west end) is a great beach. Great affordable motels, with equiped kitchens-cooking in rooms leaves more time to spend on the beach. Great vacation spot.

Texas beaches are just too polluted to be on the list. Probably oil wastes floating around.

Not true E,,, Of course the uppper Texas coast doesn't have pretty watr because of the Gulf steam heading our way and we get all the suspended silts from the Mississippi river,,,, we do have fairly clean water down here,,, especially in Padre'

Way too subjective. There are many more beaches I'd put way ahead of these, just as I'm sure is true for many people.

So,... who died and left and/or put this self-appointed, self-proclaimed, committee-of-one, "beach doctor" in charge of determining the [best] beaches?

The beaches may be nice in Daytona.. but I wouldn't go anywhere else there right now... We go to New Smyrna at the Reserve Park. It's $3 a person but never, ever crowded.... I don't like a crowded beach...
