With a smaller overhead and far less potential for ruin, video game novels have been around for years. I can remember reading novelizations of Ninja Gaiden or Bionic Commando, games for the original Nintendo. Command and Conquer will be getting a novelization of the series' newest title: Tiberium Wars.
