But according to research, coffee might actually have some health benefits, and it's one of the few drinks available these days that doesn't come loaded with sugar and calories. It might guard against gout, diabetes and Alzheimer's disease, and other health problems. Just make sure you stay away from the Frappuccinos.

    Full disclosure aside, he said, coffee has shown promising results in recent studies that compare consumption with diabetes rates, including reports that suggest people who drink six or seven cups a day were 50 percent less likely to develop Type 2 diabetes.

    No one understands quite why, although caffeinated coffee seems to have more of an impact than decaf. A lot more study needs to be done, Rushakoff said, especially since the results are based on historical observations and not clinical trials -- the gold standard for medical research.

      Just like wine or tobacco, coffee is a traditional product, and has lots of positive qualities. And, just like other traditional spiritual and medical remedies, coffee has been attacked and demonized by modern diet and moral dictocrats. As a result, less people now drink it, and more rely on laboratory-produced stimulants and life-style drugs. Yet another healthy product is being replaced by ersatz beverages...

        Can't function without my morning hit of caffeine ;) -- though always felt a bit guilty about my dependance upon it!

          Drink in moderation, not pots at a time (lol). I have limited my intake because too much as not very good.

            I drink my Bustello coffee about 3 cups or 4 on a good day. It's not like it's alcohol. I got a cappuccino machine that kicks butt! After you froth the milk, top it with powdered cinnamon....Mmmmm!

                  Coffee can be bad for your health when you rather drink coffee instead of water. It has its hidden dangers.

                    I love my coffee but dont have it every day cuz one time I had to go without for a few days and got a raging headache.

                    so now I have it about every other day and if I quit I dont get the head pounding headache.

                      Coffee causing kidney stones?!!! In the recent American issue of Encyclopedia of naturopathic remedies, coffee, alongside with lemon water and cranberry juice, is said to help our bodies NOT TO DEVELOP kidney stones. Which makes sense as it's a diuretic...

                          On the other hand, majority of research on benefits of coffee are being sponsored by corporations dealing with growing, processing, and selling coffee... so, no one can really know one hundred per cent where the truth is, you're right...
