Still not as many people died as our pets. Wonder if the rain was laced with anti-freeze?

Wow, and here we are facing the biggest drought in 50 years down here in the southeast while others in the world are receiving punishing rainstorms and flooding.

Monsoon season always brings flooding, while in S. Korea I found the Koreans were very efficient at dealing with it and from my understanding the commie Chinese have turned dealing with this annual disaster into an art form.

They are just willing to watch massive amounts of people die and do not feel the need to send aide. The USA will bail them out.

China could lose millions and still have lots.

With the new 3 gorges dam on line, at least the Yangtze won't flood and kill a million more. It's cruel to say this, but human life is cheap in China.....perhaps because there is so much of it.

the government probably views it as a natural culling occurence. while sad, a fact of life. same thing in bangladesh.. no big deal.. every year , same old same old.

Flooding is a big time WMD and the single largest killer world wide. Global warming will make this worse. I find most of the above comments crass and insensitive. You folks wouldn't make these statements if it happened to your loved ones. Government can't control the vagarities of nature.

Are these Americancs who condemn the celebration of 9/11 by their enemies? And they are showing this to people who have been friendly and cooperating with them? Are these the same people? Are these "people" who their president would describe as "evil"? or "angelic"? Or just patriotic, or "devilishly patriotic"? Tell me please, Americans out there? Is this the American spirit? If yes, this world is in great danger and human beings have no hope. Please tell me the answer is not yes. Next time when I meet Americans or go to Disneyland, I want to see what sort of creatures I see. Are these people who want me dead for no reason, for no reason, if not for the friendship I wish to bestow?

At least people there help each other more than those in Katrina. Oh well, Kartina, I didn't rejoice then! Am I throwing back a nasty comment? Like a tomato or egg? Definitely not a bullet.

I have to agree with Lark...its comments like that which make people around the world hate and fear Americans...not to mention its just ignorant and racist....so what...China has a commmunist government...does that mean that they are sub-human? They are people just like you with familys and freinds just like you...why should they suffer cause you dont like their government...besides...its nature...it has nothing to do with the type of government they have. and Evelyna your comment was espcially self-centered...40 people are dead and all you can think about is how one of the companies over there laced the pet food with anti-freeze...do you feel superior now? Idiot...

They do not co-operate with us-they are out for themselves. Other countries hate us because we exploit the people and their resourses.

I am not trying to feel superior, there will be more posionings-unless China allows people to come in and investigate.

I just look on the label-if it is made there I will not buy. So Me and my dogs will not be posioned and I will buy goods that last longer than a month.

There are a lot of sick people full of hatred in this world, whoever is evelyna and packewood, especially packewood, these people are prime examples of what is wrong with our world. Hatred, hatred.

While it is true that some unscrupulous companies have produced dangerous products, they do not have the monopoly on this. Can you two remember the Love Canal where toxic waste was buried by good ol' USA companies, are you aware of the lawsuits every years where here in the good ol' USA companies are sued for putting on the market products that cause the death of people, NOT PETS, PEOPLE. What about the stuff they used to put in cigarettes, wasn't there a very large lawsuit about this, and the list goes on? But hey, that's OK as long as it's us doing it right?.

Packewood I have to assume by your comment that Hitler is one of your heroes, killing people of a certain ethnic background was also a big thing with him. But remember this; it is not a good idea to kill them these days, if you did who would work for 125 bucks a month for the US companies over there making all that stuff that has a label Made in China or the US companies that are importing it?

As for life being cheap there, ask a mother over there if her child's life is cheap?

And finally, (and you probably don't know this) the first country that bails out the US by lending money to it is Japan, but guess who's second. Yes China, over 400 billions last time I looked. Without this money we would be up the creek.

There are good and bad people in each country and good and bad things too. It's better to fight against the bad things and bad people in respective countries than to be blurred by them and fight other entire countries indiscriminately. Improve your own country and if possible, help, not force, other people improve their own country too, just my opinions, may sound idealistic, but even if this is not achieved, isn't it better than to be full of hatred? There are so much for the two peoples to learn from each other and cooperate with each other.

The best thing netscape does is to provide this site - it gives paranoid, self-centered, ignorant, xenophobic, homophobic, anti-social miscreants like the first posters & those running rampant on the Lieberman post a chance to anonymously post their warped thoughts without having to face anyone. Coward losers.

If we are a free people then even those that are vicious in their views have a right to state them.I was very impressed by the S. Korean response while stationed there and I restate that the commie Chinese excel at taking care of their own when they experience this annual disaster,a simple search will show the massive resources(military and civilian)they bring to bear every year.
