One Soldier's Thoughts Before His Third Tour In Iraq »
Posted by: Wil 2 years, 5 months ago"As I sit here in DFW international airport and wait to return from leave, I am struck by the willful ignorance of those who support this war. These men and women, generally meaning the best, choose to ignore and discard any negative news coming from Iraq as biased against anything from the military, the war, or the President."

June 11, 2007, 1:11 a.m.Is this really a news story or more like a redux of John Kerrys story he told to Congress that even he admits he had nothing but heresay but submitted as being first person.Give some credence to your story or IMHO that's all it is is a story.

June 11, 2007, 4:55 a.m.It's hearsay that there are massive pointless casualties among a civilian population who had 0 to do with 9-11 in a country we invaded based on misinformation, lies, and fear mongering? Read a non-American newspaper (even an Israeli one)

June 11, 2007, 11:03 a.m.Well just as he said we see the supporters of Bush here being unwilling and unable to listen to the truth from a soldier and accept the comments as accurate.
Get a life people. This young man was making his 3rd tour in Iraq. How many of you with the negative comments have made even one?
Honor the soldiers by giving proper due respect to their comments on what it is like being in Iraq. Especially from someone who is heading back for a third tour.

June 11, 2007, 11:19 a.m.As my old Gunnery Sgt in Vietnam used to say, "It ain't a good war but it's the only one we got." And NO ONE ever spit on me...that lived.

June 11, 2007, 3:12 p.m.WHEN ARE THE IRAQI PEOPLE GOING TO GET OFF THEIR A.S.S.E.S. AND RUN THEIR OWN COUNTRY!!
The sad thig is, most of us knew the answer to this before the war started.

June 11, 2007, 9:19 p.m.But did the Iraqi people ASK for this? maybe I was deaf to all their pleas for our help? begging us to let them have the freedom we have. Did I miss all that? Previously I thought they were running their country, not the way we do it, or like, but still.
Bring the troops home!! I'm sick of having Americans die too...but it's because I think we should have never gone there in the first place, then to add more-and more- till when? Bring them home NOW!

June 11, 2007, 12:14 p.m.Well written. And bang on. Wish that more would read it. Especially politicians. ALL members of Congress who just voted for more money for the war. BUSH, who can't seem to get it through his head. RICE should be put in a room with a looped tape of it running 24 hours a day for three days. CHENEY should have it tattooed on his belly. RUMMY should be sentenced to life in prison with this as the only available reading material.
Guess I went on a rant. But damn, when will they GET IT!

June 11, 2007, 11:59 p.m.Being skeptical of anonymous/ unnamed/ knowledgeable/ ad nauseum should be second nature but I suppose as long as that "source" confirms your view it should be accepted at face value, sorry not me I'll always expect verifiable sourcing in any and all stories whether or not they are pro or con my own personal twist on an issue and of course the view of one individual among 130,000 should also be weighed accordingly pro or con.Remember Richard Jewel and Doctor Hatfield ruined by unnamed anonymous authoritative "sources".BTW I have everything from Al herat to The Strait Times bookmarked thank you very much.
