June 11, 2007, 10:51 p.m.From the article...
That doesn't mean he hasn't been working the phones, calling a trio of lawmakers â;; Sen. John Kyl, an Arizona Republican, Sen. Ted Kennedy, the Democrat from Massachusetts, and Colorado's Democratic Senator Ken Salazar â;; from Air Force One Monday at around 10 a.m. EST to discuss strategy, said White House spokesman Scott Stanzel. "The President understands there are strong emotions on this issue and he's going to go up and listen to the concerns of senators and talk with them about how this is our best opportunity to enact bipartisan immigration reform," Stanzel said. "We feel that we can see the finish line and are within a couple days of a conclusion."

June 11, 2007, 10:55 p.m.Like I keep saying, those of us opposed to this bill have got to keep up the pressure on Congress and the President or they are going to force this bill through. Now the President wants to hear the concerns of Senators, and seems to want to conpletely ignore the concerns, and the desires, now the demands, of the citizens that Congress, and the President, are supposed to represent.

June 12, 2007, 12:17 a.m.I am very much against this. It is bad for America. I live near a huge plant that makes construction and mining equipment. All they are hiring are people from Pakistan. Now that is NOT FOR JOBS AMERICANS WILL NOT DO. There are kids here that just got out of college and are qualified to do those jobs, by they will not hire them. My friends that do their taxes say they are making as much as 70 thousand a year to start. What's wrong with this picture. I will tell you, they are and will be taking MY JOB AND YOURS........THIS IS BAD FOR AMERICAN'S AND BAD FOR OUR COUNTRY. KEEP UP THE PRESSURE. http://www.fairus.org/site/PageServer?pagename=...

June 12, 2007, 8:47 a.m.All of congress just needs to work on securing our borders & ports and enforce the law that companies are required to have employees fill out and submit the government form that is just like the W-2 form required by the IRS.
If congress is really serious about protecting Americans & securing our borders, no one would have voted yes on this bill. (some of our reps. have yet to even read this bill)
No bill is better than a bad bill!

June 12, 2007, 1:29 p.m.The problem is: this country is run by special interests groups. one in specific: La Rozza (sp?)
major corporations have lured illegals here. and, believe me, illegals have no allegience to the United States of America; there is only the desire to make money and send it home!

June 12, 2007, 1:34 p.m.The president is beyond reelection so he can contact who he wants and not have to worry about it. The congressmen/women is a different matter, however. It appears that my congressman/woman has voted for amnesty and they will not get my vote come election time. I intend to send each another email explaining why they better start looking for another job. The only thing these people understand is votes so lets take it away from them.

June 12, 2007, 1:42 p.m.I am from Michigan and have sent two emails to each of my senators. They both supported the bill and neither returned any response. I am going to do everything in my power to get them both beaten in their next election.
This bill must not go through but all indications are they want it and we can go to h... I will keep sending messages as I hope all do as well.

June 12, 2007, 1:58 p.m.I've been thinking about this and decide that not only do I need to keep emailing and calling every congressperson supporting this bill, I call the ones from my area first, but I call all that support also. Anyway, I was thinking that maybe I should also start calling those that are opposing it as well to let them know they have my support, I wonder if that might not help also, for all of us to give support to those opposed to this bill, let them know we don't want them to give in on it, at the same time we keep the pressure up on those who favor this bill, so they will realize just how much the American people do not want THIS immigration reform bill.

I too am from Michigan and I received a response from my representative. I made sure I sent one to both my senators and my representative. Don't forget about them!
