    Thanks Malaika111-

Very interesting. wow! if you look over the 8 risks, that's enough to persuade me away from these procedures. but, I can certainly understand the morbidly obese considering this option.

Personally, I am aware of other resources that I would implement, first.

Most if not all people have to have documented other attemps at different forms of weight loss attempts, example- Jenny Craig, Atkins, weight watchers etc.. I think a medication called Zenicol. Plus it's madatory to have testing by pychologist and many other Drs if the operation is even possible. So as the artical says 'So it is better to make an informed decision for the surgery' it's hard not to be informed, you cannot just go to a bariatric surgeon and say you want this and they preform it, there are many things you must do before hand. Reasearch is the best way I think, especially because this is MAJOR surgery, and there are risks/possible complications for any kind of surgery.

I've known a few people who had this done, it is AMAZING! but also life changing in many ways, not just weight.

I don't know I would thing that there are severe ramifications to that surgical procedure. I just am iffy, iffy, on things that aren't natural.

I have a relative who almost lost his life doing this surgery and no one even knew because he did it secretly. Folks trust me on this staple your lips closed, forget this other crap it's really dangerous.

Malaika111, good article I have to admit I am to uncomfortable to go under the knife. I have known a couple of people who had the surgery. One past away after a few years of complications, the other lost weight and has gained it all back and then some. Overeating is an addiction and some that do do well with the weight loss have crossed addictions like over spending, alcohol, drugs etc. They may have lost the weight but not the emotions that made them eat in the first place.
