A New Pro-Life? »
Posted by: elzorro2162 2 years, 6 months agoWhat pleasantly surprised me, though, was how refreshingly different these young activists were from the stereotypes. While they have clearly chosen, for a variety of personal reasons, to make abortion their primary issue, they were hardly card-carrying members of the Religious Right. When I brought up the notion of a "seamless garment of life

June 13, 2007, 5:48 p.m.A welcome sight! A proper, consistent view of life: all life is sacred from the fetus to the poor around us to those that die in senseless wars. A consistent policy of life will oust that powers that be that have played the Evangelical Conservatives like a cheap violin...finally they are waking up to this NeoCon nightmare of lies and manipulation.

June 14, 2007, 4:07 a.m.Although I do not condone abortion(4 kids to prove it)I don't think the laws should have say over what other women want to do. Some may be pregnancies of rape or failed contraceptive.
But those women who are not in those groups should not use it as a form of birth control. The problem is finding out who THOSE women are.now those who DO fall into the 2 groups I mentioned COULD just adopt the babies out, but who am I to decide what they do with their bodies. There is risk involved with abortion they should consider.
I am proud, though, to see that there are some ppl with the sense to know that all around the board, the killing of innocents is wrong.
Great post.

June 14, 2007, 8:38 a.m.If everyone is so serious about life they should consider paying the woman a decant salary to carry the baby to term.
The life movement is all about making a stand on something people do not have to get involved in.
They could also consider volunteering at ghettos to help single moms raise their children and provide babysitting services.
I think that would shut them up.

June 14, 2007, 9:46 a.m.An interesting article that turned into the typical anti- Christian - Bush bashing posts. So much for tolerance and diversity.
I think the issue is so involved and to look at different sides that believers take is refreshing and provocative.
thanks zorro...although I note you tag it with name calling.

June 14, 2007, 10:49 a.m.Did any of you catch Scarborough Country on MSNBC on 6/13? The topic was: 'A New Hampshire middle school is under fire after taking students on a field trip to Planned Parenthood'.
The abortionists must really be running scared when they pull crap like that. I resent my tax dollars being used to brainwash my child that killing babies is okay. Isn't that the tactic the Nazi's used? Indoctrinate them while they are very young.

June 14, 2007, 10:56 a.m.Abortion and war are the karmic reactions for killing animals. Bhaktivedanta Swami said:
"Don't kill...We don't say, 'Stop eating meat.' You can eat meat, but (not) by killing. Simply wait (until the animal dies of natural causes) and you'll get the carcasses.
"You are killing innocent cows and other animals--nature will take revenge...This is nature's law. 'You have killed. Now you kill yourselves.' You'll kill your own child--abortion...
"Who are these children being killed? They are these meat-eaters. They enjoyed themselves when so many animals were killed and now they're being killed by their own mothers. If you kill the cow, who is your mother, then in some future lifetime your mother will kill you.
"...stop these killing houses. It is very sinful. That is why they have so many wars. Every ten or fifteen years there is a big war--a wholesale slaughterhouse for humankind...by the law of karma, every action has its reaction."

June 14, 2007, 11:23 a.m.I'm so sick of all of these anti freedom people. Pro lifers are nothing more than fascists that want to take away people's the freedom to choose. Just typical. I don't like it so I want to force everyone else to conform to my narrow minded views. Talk about unamerican and unpatriotic.

June 14, 2007, 12:22 p.m.Only in America could so many doctors take innocent lives and throw them away like yesterday's gabage and at the same time we sentence someone like Dr. Kovorkian for eight years for helping some unfortunate soul to end his/her own life of suffering.
America is supposed to support not only individuals but groups too. Especially those with no voice. I believe we are witnessing firsthand what is meant by the term "slippery slope".
Our government's involvement into our lives should end at the "public" level. Birth control, marriage, sex, religion ect. are all "private" issues and should be dealt with on one's personal beliefs.
Take healthcare as a prime example. Healthcare is a "private" issue. Once the lawyers get involved so do the courts/judges/legislators or in other words, the govt. We need to find a way to resolve personal issues without involving so much red tape and regulation.
Just my two cents.

June 14, 2007, 12:57 p.m.America was founded on Judeo-Christian ethics and morality. These ethics and morality are based on the Ten Commandments, not the ten suggestions. The last time I looked I'm pretty sure there was a Commandment that said 'Thou shalt not kill'. There is no commandment that says 'Thou shalt choose'. So toph73 can get as sick as he/she/it likes. Accept the fact that abortion is murder and not a 'freedom' and it is only a matter of time before it is outlawed.

June 14, 2007, 1:57 p.m.Abortion is a better choice than bringing a child into the world that is severly crippled due a mother's drug use or lack of concern for a developing child.

June 14, 2007, 2:21 p.m.After all, it's an issue of human rights, and women's rights! A woman has an ABSOLUTE, GOD-GIVEN right to choose if she wants to have a baby, or how many. Only a patriarchal society can dictate her anything against her will.

Lets get back to the Good old days of the Crusades, when Men were Men, Popes were Gods, and the women folk took care of "that stuff"!

June 15, 2007, 12:17 a.m.I knew a girl who used abortions as her form of birth control. I think she had 4 by the time she was in her early 20's. Pretty sick if you ask me.
