June 13, 2007, 3:09 p.m.I predicted it. He's here!!! Fred Thompson can only be defeated...by Fred Thompson. No other Republican can come close to the man whom, I believe, sincerely is devoted to America and unashamed of promoting "The American Way."
Fred was a successful Senator with an outstanding record. (F.Y.I. to Ed.) He can communicate his ideas. He once dated Country Star Lori Morgan. (little known fact.) Ha! Note to RINO'S: This man can win. He is the only Republican who can defeat Hillary. Handily.
Want proof of Fred's viability? Just look at the attack blogs and subsequent posts from the usual suspect Libs. Fred Thompson gives them NIGHTMARES!!! Ha. This should tell you something.
Join me in supporting a real American, a real Tennessean, (unlike Al Gore.) If Fred wins the South, he wins the Country. Go Fred Thompson!!

June 13, 2007, 11:17 a.m.I noticed on T.V. yesterday that Fred is a Tall, Presidential looking fellow. That's enough to win it for him.

June 13, 2007, 11:17 a.m.I am not sure if we will be able to tell if he is just acting or is for real?
We need some people who are real people, living in the real world, not just playing a part or a role!
Time will tell, as we have seen, with others on the campaign trail, give them a microphone and a stage. The real person has a tendency to be exposed.
Thanks luzmyprez for this posting.

June 13, 2007, 11:25 a.m.I hope that nobody is surprised that Thompson's rivals would go after him as his visibility rises. There's no mystery in that happening.
How Thompson handles adversity will be the determinant in how far his presidential bid goes

June 13, 2007, noonWell, if the whole trial lawyer thing is enough to ding him, I guess that means John Edwards has to drop out now, too.
Plus, as Julius Sharpe notes, Fred can point to a very tough record on pretend crime. *g*

June 13, 2007, 12:43 p.m.Maybe if Fred had made one of those "typical" Hollywood comments about how if a certain politician wins the Presidency he would move out of the country then I could understand your point. You know, the comments made by people like Rosie and Alec, that they would move out of the country if the 2004 elections didn't go their way. You know, the same people who still live here and try to influence elections. I don't think Fred is that type of Hollywood type. If you can offer proof of Fred making this type of comment, I will promise you today that I will not vote for him.

June 13, 2007, 12:49 p.m.I find a similar disconnect among some Liberal believers in God. One's who will accuse a Conservative believer in God of thinking that the earth was created 6,000 years ago and that man walked the earth with dinosaurs. But the Liberal believers in God seem to get a free pass on that issue.

June 13, 2007, 12:42 p.m.From the article:
A separate survey found that 37% of Americans have a favorable opinion of the Republican Party. Forty-five percent (45%) have a favorable opinion of the Democratic Party.
Voters continue to trust Democrats more than Republicans on ten key issues tracked by Rasmussen Reports. But, over the past month, Republicans have gained significant ground on one key issue-- immigration. What's especially interesting about this trend is that the Republican Party gained while the President's Job Approval ratings have fallen to new lows. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has also been impacted by the immigration issueâ;;just 19% of voters nationwide now have a favorable opinion of Reid. That's down from 26% a month

June 13, 2007, 2:58 p.m.IF thompson runs, he has my vote. I will not, in now way shape or form vote for Billary, or edwards. Hillary is in this for herself. She is a power hungry thug. It was a well known fact that when she was first lady that she did not like the military. she should just go stand by her man and bake cookies for chelsey's wedding.

June 13, 2007, 11:05 p.m.I like the spot he did on Leno where he came across as a little old country lawyer who got tired of the beltway politics and left for more saner surroundings like Hollywood. He got big applause for that line. Wonder of the audience realized that this guy is currently and always has been up to his neck in cutthroat beltway politics.

June 13, 2007, 11:51 p.m.Fred Thompson has already shown hes smarter than the rest by not getting involved in these ridiculous debates 18 months before the fact.I dont think that media exposure is the beguiling siren for Fred Thompson that it is for the others Also, Ronald Reagan was a great president because he had the communicative skills to explain why he felt the way he did on issues and most people could see his logic and wanted his plan to succeed. He could garner the support of a majority and without widespread support the greatest planning will fail. I have a feeling that Fred Thompson may be as effective a communicator. For the sake of this great country I HOPE SO

June 14, 2007, 12:58 a.m.actually, as silly as I thought every one was by declaring so early, I think Thompson made a mistake by waiting. He may be what the far right has been waiting for but it seems to me he has to play catch up. I can't see him winning the nomination anyway. If I was a dem I wouldn't sweat Thompson.

June 14, 2007, 1:21 a.m.The only difference between Thompson and any other sleazy politician is that he sounds folksy. A folksy politician that voted on the side of corporations to the detriment of his constituents, a folksy politician that lobbied for legislation preventing redress for asbestos injury claims, a folksy politician who sponsored legislation that enabled S&L's to defraud people of their life savings. If he becomes a serious contender his dirty laundry will come out and brother does this guy have some.

June 27, 2007, 7:35 p.m.Big deal. So he did lobbying. He had to make money somehow just like the others did one way or the other. I like the guy and he sure looks the part as well. Better than all the others running for office. We need a change and I believe he is it.
