June 13, 2007, 11:12 a.m.Well, it's a start, I guess. But there are still a LOT of shrines and mosques to knock down before they are all gone. Best they get real busy and put their best effort into it. It's pointless if they can rebuild 'em faster than they get knocked down.

June 13, 2007, 11:22 a.m.Curfews? Closing of shops and businesses? Three days of mourning?
PLEASE....
These people will do ANYthing to get out of going to work or getting anything constructive done. Therein lies the REAL problem with the Middle East. They don't want democracy, human rights or a free market because it means they would actually have to get up every day and be responsible. It's why they hate Jews, Europeans and the U.S. - - because we've moved the world forward and left them behind. Where would they be if they weren't sitting on the world's oil deposits? Exactly where they were in 1930 - herding camels, growing dates and bowing their as* down to Allah 5 times a day. Name one thing - ONE THING - that the Middle East has contributed to the advancement of humanity.
All that oil wealth, and all they do with it is spend it on bombs, guns, nuclear weapons, terror training camps and more mosques. Oh yeah, and black berkhas for the women to wear in 108-degree heat.

June 13, 2007, 11:44 a.m.Why not destroy every mosque in Iraq, surely neither Shiite nor Sunni has learned anything but destruction in those Muslim temples.

June 13, 2007, 11:51 a.m.Against the war, always have been and this needs to be said.
How can any person who proclaims being religious bomb a church of worship. It happens within all sects of religions with frequency. Yes, they are radicals within their fold but I question the reasoning behind the act. Do they think their god adores the acts including the killing of innocents with the ensuing misery it inflicts.
Islamic religious radical are more barbaric and all religions take a cue from their acts. Remember the guy killing abortion doctors, Gods will I guess in his mind.
Now lets say I am God, to you religious radicals, I will condemn you to fire and brimstone with a crowd of onlookers applauding your misery. Makes you wonder about the human species and how they can corrupt an idea that is suppose to explain life. Bin Laden probably thinks he will also be sitting next to Mohammed and Allah upon his death. The Lunacy of the religious.

June 13, 2007, 12:12 p.m.saintloser: I do believe that our number system is Arabic and until the industrial reveloution Arab sciences and medicine was equal to or better than Europe. But with the industrial rev. they fell behind as they did not have any raw materials to stay with the progress. They again became an area of interest with the building of the Suez Canal(1869)and from that point on the west started to exploit them.Iran has been raped for oil by the British since 1908 and in 1953 with USA's help overthrew a Gov in Iran that nationalised oil companies and this was the norm until 1979 when the Shah was expelled.Since then they have mistrusted the west especially USA;can you blame them, the actions of the 80's was not that of an olive branch and the talk today has not changed anything. And yet the west is still blaming them for their attitude

June 13, 2007, 12:27 p.m.Notice the Left wing pro islamic terrorism media calls these Terrorists (insurgents) like that makes their terrorism and murder much more justified to the criminal press corps..
Only thing good about this is at this rate soon if not already there will be an interfaith holy war among the allah worshipers and maybe they will kill each other off in such quantity that they will quit being a threat to the USA and the Christian world

June 13, 2007, 12:39 p.m.Everything is blamed on Al Qaeda. I don't buy it. The Sunni's (the ones we are arming and aiding) right now are the one's that are more probably linked to this disaster. Every time a bomb blows up in Iraq, the Iranians, the Syrians or Al Qaeda take the blame. I just don't buy it.

June 13, 2007, 1:30 p.m.I am not Muslim but seeing things like this i find so horrible. Something so revered and so old should never be destroyed and should respected as being a staple of culture going back many gneraions, regardles of religious significants. It makes me think of how aweful it is when you see beautiful roman/greek sculptures and buildings torn apart and defaced by christians and in the past.
Things like these should be preserved and held for all time for future generations to reflect on the past

June 13, 2007, 5:40 p.m.To quote a famous movie line - "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!" These people are ALL pigs. Both sides. Let them kill each other off - less for the civilized folks to deal with. Question - What do you call 100 dead radical muslims inside a blown up mosque? Answer - a good Start!

June 13, 2007, 8:18 p.m.It's interesting that the militants were fighting and happened to be carrying enough explosive to bring down both minarets. And it's an inside job? Well, I guess they would have to be inside to plant the explosives.
Nonetheless, these mosque-bombing incidents are going to lead to to further mosques getting destroyed. Pretty soon, they won't have anywhere to pray, to eat, etc.
