June 14, 2007, 10:52 p.m.Wow! That's quite a tab. I don't have a problem with it, excepting for one thing. These programs need close outside scrutiny, and I wish they'd write that into these bills. No strong oversight, no money.

June 15, 2007, 3:59 a.m.Our greatest resource is the human resource.
It has been undervalued in all but the loftiest CEO offices
(where it's ridiculously overvalued) for far too long.
This is just catch up. I'm all for it.

June 15, 2007, 10:44 a.m.Even though I am not a big supporter of how the military is used, I do feel that the government has an obligation to take care of them. They should be given the best care and attention that can be given. It ******es me off that they don't show pictures of the wounded in those recruitment commercials that shows the seals coming out of the water, airborne jumping out of plans etc.

June 15, 2007, 8:24 p.m.The bill is high because our troops are coming back with serious injuries, both physical and mental.
Which is more expensive; making sure the troops coming home get healthy and mentally stable, or another Charles Witman, John Muhammad, or an event like the Kileen massacre?
Or, would you rather prefer another hundred thousand homeless war vets?
