White House: More money for Vets requires cuts for other agencies »

Posted by: bubba2 2 years, 4 months ago

"If Congress increases VA funding above the President's request and does not offset this increase with spending reductions in other bills, the President will veto any of the other bills that exceed his request until Congress demonstrates a path to reach the President's topline of $933 billion." This is Bush politics at its dirtiest!

Atta way to "Support the Troops", Dubya!

The White House is saying that veterans, if properly funded, will be taking money from other agencies and programs.

Once again, veterans are being used as pawns in a cynical political game.

There IS enough money to properly fund veterans' needs and the other agencies, as well.

They found the money to fight a war. They CAN find the money to care for veterans!

    Dispicable ...

Supporting the troops means funding the war so they can keep they're grip on that Iraqi oil. It has nothing to do with veterans benefits or anything else.

The gang of chickenhawks pretending to be leaders only repeat slogans that have no meaning at all for them, it sounds good to their supporters who can't seem to see that they do the opposite of what they say. Truly sad.

Good, then start cutting the political payroll and close some wasted offices, like homeland security and the oval office

Hey Democrats! I got an idea.

To comply with the administration's request, cut the pensions from all convicted congressmen like Foley and Bob Ney.

From there, increase revenue by ending all tax breaks for corporations that profit in excess of 10 million dollars.

And while you're at, stop funding the secret prisons and Guantanamo, plus the overflights.

That'll put everything back under budget.

There are so many areas that our government could save money. I think we need all new congressman/women who will be more frugal in the use of our taxes. Spending it only on the important things to the American citizens.
