Duly Consider: Midsummer Key Performance Polls Analysis »
Posted by: trnscndr 2 years, 4 months agoThe first thing that comes to mind is this generic notion being reported in the mainstream media that the entire government suffers from the same levels of perceptions that they are "doing nothing" or "ignoring the will of the people." (This article sums up the key polling data from several sources in a way the mainstream med

July 13, 2007, 5:29 p.m.Why is it TV seems only capable of offering one poll at a time instead of giving us the big picture by actually analyzing key data? Is our attention span really that low?

Re: "I think we should also know what they have done. We are paying them big bucks, and they are not delivering."
In most if not all cable tv markets, you can watch C-SPAN.
The program is aired 'live' daily and It shows us what their interests are, what bills Congress is working on, voting on, etc.

July 13, 2007, 6:26 p.m.Thanks trnscndr, for putting all the polls in one place! The polls listed all in one place is a powerful statement that will have some politicians crying!
Expecting this to be done by the media, is like expecting a politician to really answer a question, instead of tap-dancing past the answer and only focusing on their own personal message. Our politicians are not representing the People, like what has happened to real reporting of the news?

July 13, 2007, 7:21 p.m.I suspected as much. The GOP is obstructing the work of Congress. So, in 2008 the voters will have to decide. Should the Democrats' agenda be allowed to move forward, or were the conservatives correct in being obstructionists?

July 13, 2007, 7:36 p.m.21% huh? Makes you wonder why CONS keep blocking legislation. Maybe bush has em believing it's only the democrats the polls are talking about, lol. 2008 is going to be a hoot come voting time.

July 13, 2007, 8:10 p.m.Partisan politics! Both parties do it. If they really wanted to serve the people they would vote over the presidents veto. That won't happen because the party in power won't vote against the president. How is this serving the interests of the electorate?

July 13, 2007, 8:22 p.m.It's a GOP tactic, especially in the Senate, tie up Democratic legislation, delay, and obstruct, until 08 when they hope they can reclaim a majority, and move forward with the conservative agenda.

July 13, 2007, 8:44 p.m.Propaganda is in tune with polling. Check out the numbers for Fox news Polls. Now that should say it all.
Hard to imagine that over twenty percent of Americans accept Mr. Bush as their leader and accept the war. Quite perplexing in that I do not know what to do, laugh or cry?
Where are the good old days where being public spirited was an attribute, now it's how many trinkets and money each person can acquire illegally. I will not say where I work but I will say this, volunteer help and assisting others is passe when you compare it to today's society. It's all about the, "Money". Give it all to your god and see if he smiles when its your time.

July 13, 2007, 10:19 p.m.The media forgets most of Americans do not like or trust them either. It would be a very difficult decision for me to decide which of the 3 I despise the most. The arrogance of it all makes me ill.

July 14, 2007, 12:39 a.m.Polls are true when they make me feel good.
Polls are false when they make me feel bad.
The real deal for me? It sometimes can be a reality check.
Lately, I've felt the polls regarding congressional performance showed that John Q hadn't been paying attention.
I've Got to admit it. My attention span is in direct proportion to the weight of the subject. So give me Numbers.
Weighted numbers! And if they make me feel good?....Then they're true.

July 14, 2007, 1:04 a.m.Interesting poll results. The Republicans swept into power on the mantra that government is incompetent at everything it tries to do. They then increased the size and incursion of government into every area of American life.,
They seem to have succeeded admirably in proving that, when they are in charge of government, the inevitable ineptitude of government is the truth.

July 14, 2007, 2:26 a.m.These polls prove one thing: about 25-30% of our population belongs in an asylum for collective psychosis.

July 14, 2007, 10:26 a.m.Aniokly, You constantly quote Fox and you have a problem with the Harris Poll and every other scientifically reputable polling organization there is. It even included Fox which, proves you just love to run your mouth without actually reading articles. Say something or shut up; those are the choices! If you say something, back it up!
PS Ani- I hate to take you away from shopping at flea markets for Elvis paraphernalia.

July 14, 2007, 2:39 p.m.While my own personal observations agree with the polling data - the article could have included more information to support the conclusion. For example, the margin of error for each poll and the number of people surveyed would be nice to see.
