July 13, 2007, 3:49 p.m.I wonder if this judge would rule the same way, if it was his wife or daughter or himself had been raped? (This kind of ruling could come back to haunt him some day! We are suppose to have justice for all!)
What is happening to our Justice System?
Thanks zaph, just more proof of errosion of our rule of law in our country!

July 13, 2007, 5:04 p.m.So how do you do anything in a court when you can't name the alledged crime, refer to the victim or the accused?
How can you talk about a crime that was committed if you can't name the evidence that proves a crime was committed. I'm telling you, this PC BS is ruining the entire Western legal system.

July 13, 2007, 9 p.m.No wonder the criminals in uniform called US Troops in Iraq are having fun raping Iraqi children and women, cause they will not be charged with anything.
What has the world come to.
In my native country, a rape is a rape and the perpetrator is executed.

July 13, 2007, 9:13 p.m.Wait til I get a jury summons. They'll disqualify me when I tell them I no longer believe in the justice system. Isn't there a piece in the constitution about the people disbanding the . . . Uh-oh. That sounds like rebellion, treason, . . .

Do you have proof? Or just some more liberal slamming? You would be a terrible juror. Maybe you and this judge should hook up to start a new world order.

July 14, 2007, 7:39 a.m.We've had conversations about this in my journalism classes during the kobe bryant rape trial and the whole duke fiasco. While no one ever talked about banning the word rape because in trial they often just say non consensual sex.
But using the word "victim" is something that we've been talking about because when the word is used it assumes that the crime has happened and casts the light sometimes in favor of that victim. I guess in hindsight in the duke case we'd all agree not to let her be called a "victim" but during the whole process and looked what happened, those boys will live with that stigma their whole life.
I'm not saying ban the word, I'm not sticking up for rape criminals but I'm saying perhaps we should reconsider how it's used and in what context and the effects that come from it.
