Plame and her lawyers knew full well that such a suit would be dismissed. The court system was simply another way to generate publicity and perhaps boost book sales.

There is another to obtain high book sales results--simply write a good book. Unfortunately, this method is seldom used any more.

Yeah, I guess having your career destroyed, not to mention what happened to other covert operatives as a result, is not worth filing a lawsuit. The judge through it out on jurisdictional grounds. I wonder if she can bring suit in another jurisdiction?

"The alleged means by which defendants chose to rebut Mr. Wilson's comments and attack his credibility may have been highly unsavory, " Bates wrote. "But there can be no serious dispute that the act of rebutting public criticism, such as that levied by Mr. Wilson against the Bush administration's handling of prewar foreign intelligence, by speaking with members of the press is within the scope of defendants' duties as high-level Executive Branch officials."

If this didn't qualify as a federal crime, it may have qualified as a civil one, as she seems to be seeking damages for personal injury from violations of civil rights. I would have thought her attorney would have filed in the lesser court rather than confront a potential Bush appointee. I guess she can't be a spy anymore. It may have been for publicity, who knows, and who cares. I want Bush hung for crimes he can be convicted of, and the same for chain-gang-Cheney, and what happened to that old wrinkled puppet, Rumsfeld? I know he's still around there, somewhere. And let's not forget America's golden boy, Powell, who lied to congress so eloquently.

The CIA already certified that she was covert at the time.

I don't think any intelligent U.S. citizen though Plame's lawsuit would be legitmised by a U.S. court, right? I mean, come now, the U.S. government being subjected to the laws that are placed on its citizens? That's madness. the U.S. government is above the law. Bush has proven time and time again that his interests rest solely in saving face and padding his pension plane through oil revenues.

This is the VERY president, so called, that claim anyone leaking the identity of a CIA would be prosecuted to the FULLEST extent of the law, right? Is it any surprise that is hasn't happened? Nope and never will. After all, this is the U.S. of A. These colors don't run, remember.

I hope that one day, and more appropriately, we realise that these colours don't run...the WORLD.

That's right. And NOC is the highest form of covert operation: so secret as to imply plausible deniability, a fact the nay-sayers try to use to advantage.

In other words, Valerie Plame was a deep cover operative for the CIA at the time her identity was revealed. Even the CIA concurs.

I'm sure the Plame lawyer made a lot of money for doing nothing. I'm sure he knew it was a losing battle since they can't sue Administration officials anyway.

When this guy appoints all the judges sympathetic to him and willing to march to his tune, when the Attorney General is his lap dog and when he has subverted the jury system by granting commutation to a convicted criminal to protect himself, It means only one thing:

He is the Judge, the Jury and the Sheriff.

This, my friends, is where democracy starts its journey toward totalitarian rule, down a slippery slope!

It will take years to clean the mess this guy has created, and bring our nation back to its Constitutional Supremacy.

                                    Impeachment Now, Vigilance Forever!

                                    Peace and Blessings!

I'm sorry this didn't go to trial. I think the left would really be surprised when it came out that she was little more than a clerk. She was still at the CIA but she wasn't much of an operative. I think she and little Joe were nothing more that shills trying to sell a book deal.

If she really was a spy, we'd never have knows. When dealing with the CIA, you never have to worry about the ones you see, it's the ones that you don't see you need to worry about. If you're a bad guy.
