July 24, 2007, 8:59 p.m.If it is true, it makes sense that the philosophy would have been handed down from generation to generation. At least it would give the current Boosh a prediliction for such idiocy.

July 24, 2007, 9:25 p.m.This really isn't that surprising (if true) when one looks at the historical situation. Henry Ford was a notorious anti-Semite and so were many of the people at the time. It is the way things were.
Hitler's Germany had much to admire, from the outside. People were going back to work, the economy was recovering, order was 'restored' (don't forget the NAZI's had a huge amount to do with the fact that there was disorder in the first place) and the country was getting 'back on track'. This is also before the concentration camps and during the time that Germany told the Jews to get out and absolutely no-one (especially the US) would take them.
It just isn't that surprising. Wonder if the President heard stories about this on his grandfather's knee. It would explain a LOT.

July 24, 2007, 9:27 p.m."Well, let's hear yours then, since you're so smart or like all fascists is it only possible for you to tear down?"
As they say, you can lead a `tard to knowledge, but you can not make him think. All someone has to do is make a claim about a member of the Bush family, and you'll swallow it hook, line, and sinker.
Here are the facts about the so called American Libery League.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Liberty_L...
The American Liberty League was a U.S. organization formed in 1934 by conservative Democrats such as Al Smith (the 1928 Democratic presidential nominee), Jouett Shouse (former high party official and U.S. Representative), John W. Davis (the 1924 Democratic presidential nominee), and John Jacob Raskob (former Democratic National Chairman and the foremost opponent of Prohibition), Dean Acheson (future Secretary of State under Harry Truman), along with many industrialists, notably members of the Du Pont family.

July 24, 2007, 9:39 p.m.The signs of fascism are all around us, but the remaining Bush apologists either are in denial that it really is fascism or they are too stupid to realize it.
We see the denial and ignorance every day ...right here on these threads.

July 24, 2007, 10:04 p.m.the first reference i saw to the coup was in the testimony of general smedley butler to congress. he had been asked to lead the coup because of his brilliant military credentials. he declined and did everything he could to put them in jail.
so this story dates back to 1934. why is it not better known? why do five corporations control all of our major media?
anyone on netscape can search for details of butler's life. the ADL is simply lying again.

July 24, 2007, 10:24 p.m.Fascism. Such a loaded term these days, but openly discussed and even promoted during Prescott's era. The Bush family history has some interesting elements to it. Of course, we're not supposed to bring up this family's past - for some reason. Discussion of the Bush family history is strictly verboten!

July 24, 2007, 10:38 p.m.Back in the spring a person gave me a couple of cd's that contained a documentry called the Ring of Power, It took close to six hours to watch it all and it seemed to me to be the greatest conspiracy theroy I had ever heard of. It linked Romans,Jews,Christians, the Free Masons and certain families into one great plan to rule the world. The Bush family was part of this plan. Has anyone else heard of this documentry and is any of it really possible. It is sort of related to this story and I would like to find the story again.

July 24, 2007, 10:49 p.m.IIRC, it was Smedley Butler, WWI's most decorated war hero and author of the essay "war is a racket" who was approached by the elites to lead the coup. He told them to get bent.
The irony is that FDR was an elite himself. He ushered in enough reforms to cut the legs out from under the unions and the socialist party, then got us into WWII. Setting the stage for the HUAC, the witch-hunts, the buildup of the military-industrial complex and Fascism USA. FDR was no working class hero, just a pure sonofabitch who was smarter than the average bear and loyal to the elite classes.

July 25, 2007, 12:17 a.m.Thanks Neo for the headsup on this article posted by Fedquip. Thanks Fedquip, interesting read!
A few years ago, I was reading about Senator/Grandfather Prescott Bush he was suppose to own a steel company in Ohio, that manufactured parts for trains, that was sold to German companies, then to Hitler. The Senate was in the middle of doing an investigation, when the war ended and the investigation was dropped!
Looking back on history, people in power, with alot of money seem to want to be in control of everything and everyone! The elite will turn on each other when it behooves them to do so!

July 25, 2007, 1:21 a.m.The amazing thing is how long it took for the family to pull it off. Prescott would probably not have considered it had he known to wouldn't kick in till 60 years after the Great Depression ended.
