For all of the differences brought to last night's debate by the YouTube format, it was still primarily a match between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on the topic of foreign policy.

NBC News' Chuck Todd writes, "The contrast between Obama's answer and Clinton's answer was the difference between someone running for the Dem nomination and someone running for Commander in Chief. She got the better of him on that one." However, Obama "got stronger as the debate wore on. She was simply better on that one question and it was important because it exemplified her experience argument."

"When Obama was good, he was "very, very good," writes Time's Mark Halperin. In regards to Iraq, Obama "took occasional soft shots at Clinton...and her questionable ability to fight for change (his main theme), but never made a decisive impact." Nonetheless, Obama got an A- for his performance and Clinton a B for "sitting on her lead," which failed to make her the clear winner as she was in previous debates."

On foreign policy I liked the fact that Obama was willing to meet with leaders from the so called 'bad regimes'

If Hillary seems to be the nominee, I think Gore will jump in. I am not a Hillary fan. She voted for the WAR, NAFTA, the Patriot Act, The Military Commissions Act and the Banking and Credit card bill. She is not a democrat in thinking. She is a corporatist. She is part of the problem.

What debate? Questions that got the standard run around the bush speak? There was no debate. Just the standard BS. I want a debate on the issues facing this country and I don't care if that debate lasts for more than an day. I want them with their feet to the fire tells me the truth not what they want me to here. I want to hear them explain every little nuance of why they feel qualified to be wasting my time.

I thought that was some kind of audition, with two well seasoned ACTORS trying to convince somebody they are qualified to be the POTUS.

Clinton in a Silk blazer had the perennial look of a slimey Sheister. Obama on the other hand, had no real answers of substance and seemed completely unprepared. Go figure...

I say Obama needs to run for office of Plumbing General Inspector and the Clintons just need to take their steamy, crusty history and just go away.

Funny you never hear the libbo jibbo's on Nutscape decrying Janet Reno's reign of terror under Clinton. Her civil rights abuses are unparalleled in U.S. history.

How about the women and children summarily massacred at Waco, Burned alive by the FEDS?

Hmm, Let's see. Clinton, or Obama. The only reason that this brother is going to get anywhere near the white house is because of the color of his skin. There is no way that a neophite politician could possibly be qualified to be POTUS. He still carries his Buzz Lightyear lunch box to work with him every day. If color cannot "disqualify" someone from office, then it should not be used to

"qualify" any person for public office. and Mrs. Clinton?. How can anyone seriously consider a person who's moral compass is so f***ed up she probably has to be led to the parking lot every day. People, get serious about your decision when you go into that voting booth. It's the only opportunity you have to say something about who is going to lead our country for the next four years!!!!!!

As bad as things look for the Republicans right now, they are licking their chops for either Clinton or Obama to be their opponent in 2008. In their cynical minds they know they have a good shot at beating either a black man or a woman. That is precisely why the MSM want so dearly for this contest to be over before a single vote ever gets cast in the primary or a single caucus goer finds his or her way through the snow in January.

Any white male candidate that "complcates" the race is marginalized and smeared with an intensity usually reserved for the general election. This is true in the way the media is approaching the Edwards campaign (come on, the hair?), and it would be equally true if Biden were to gain some traction (don't think the old plagurism charges wouldn't resurface). If Gore were to jump into the race, he too would be wickedly attacked. I don't Know if Gore will eventually jump in, but if he is he is smart right now to let everyone punch it out early.

OK, OK. The "girl" comment was a low blow. But be armed and prepared for just these sort of attacks come next year from our Republican neo-friends.

You're indignation is warranted and I apologize. But, everything Hillary does is contrived and staged for effect, more so than any other Democrat in the field. She can wear what ever she wants, but she is all image and no substance.

She is definitely not progressive by any stretch of the word.
