July 25, 2007, 9:35 p.m.Aidenag - I get so confused by the many Republicans caught with their pants down or under the influence, I get somewhat confused. Now you will take note that I did not mention the Democrats. They do not aver righteousness.
I am eagerly awaiting the moral equivocator New Gingrich to take over the mantle of respectability for the Republican party!! There's a man who is righteous!!!

July 25, 2007, 9:47 p.m.My cousin, who was a preacher before he became a biker told me that nobody gets propositioned more than preachers. If that is true, I can see why they get in trouble when those hormones get stirred up. I recall that happening to me in my younger days, fortunately I wasn't a preacher. ;) But believe it or not, christians are still human, and they make mistakes just like the rest of us.

July 25, 2007, 10:18 p.m.And where are the people who follow these hypocrits? Are they so senseless that they cannot think for themselves? If someone was preaching at me every Sunday and then acted out with prostitutes, I'd be so ticked, I'd walk out of that church and never look back. Do their congregations have no back bone at all? Or are they just that stupid?

July 25, 2007, 10:21 p.m.It must be the ever-present strain of following the righteous path! There are a lot of potholes on that path, dug by righteous ministers and priests who have sinned big time!
Human being are the same, whether they wear a vestment or robe. They will sin!
What makes it more interesting is most of these worms are Republicans!

July 25, 2007, 10:58 p.m.I hate to do it, but I'll have to stick up for the guy. The only link between him and the prostitute is two blank checks - he claimed to have lost them in a restaurant - without signatures.
I doubt he would pay a hooker with a check (!), but even less so, with a blank check (!!) Now let's think a moment more, if a fellow wants to pay a hooker with a check, a blank check, would he neglect to countersign it?
As much as I'd like to gloat, the evidence is slim and contradictory, and if he can come up with a decent alibi, I'm inclined to believe it.
Fellas, how many times must I tell you? Pay in cash only! And with an assumed name! Cheez wiz, some old folks were born yesterday.

July 25, 2007, 11:23 p.m.It is amazing when you read these to remember how these same fundies crucified Clinton for having an affair. Its almost starting to sound that they got mad at him because his affair focused attention on actions like those and was not attention they wanted.

July 25, 2007, 11:25 p.m.Maybe we can all focus on the positive aspect of this. Once he goes to prison he can start those prison missions he always talked of.

July 25, 2007, 11:28 p.m.These people just don't get tired of exposing themselves do they?
What a lot of jokes they are, they have made a mockery of the GOP.
Does any of this stuff make the news, or is it just exposed on NS? I certainly hope it gets out to all the conservatives who may be tempted to vote the same ticket again in 2008.

July 25, 2007, 11:46 p.m.The longer I live, the more I am convinced that Religions, especially those of Middle-Eastern origin, are one BIG scam!
Drowning in promises of Eternal Life but only if you do (their idea of)Good, they nonetheless through their edicts want to control the individual, physically, spiritually, and sexually...
And if you don't toe their line(s), you will burn eternally in Hell!
For whoever controls the individual's sex-life, he will ultimately control society!
Besides, don't we always see sects and cults emeging during times of political and social upheaval?
It's just that the early Christian sect diabolically understood that if you convert the topman in any clan, then you will have won half the struggle of converting the entire clan. So, with the conversion of Emperor Constantine, they began their conquest of then world-power Rome...
Today, those Fundamental Christians having converted the head of the American Empire are hoping for similar success...

July 25, 2007, 11:54 p.m.Look, I do find much of the agenda of this CAL organization repugnant. It's either misstated, bigoted, or both. These do seem to be a collection of HOLIER than thou "Christians" who somehow missed the fact that again-and-again, Christ taught, "Judge not, that ye be not judged." Christ went out among the sinners to save them. These guys just want to condemn them and point out to all their holy neighbors what paragons of virtue they are. Who needs a sacrificial lamb for salvation when your own perfection is quite sufficient?
I'd find nothing more comforting or less surprising than that all the charges against Mr. Privette turn out to be true. But he does deserve his day in court before being pilloried. He claims to have lost a wallet with checks in it, and that's certainly possible. The lady of the night in this case doesn't have the most respectable record, and it's possible she's just lying to cover felony forgery. Let's let the legal system figure this one out.

July 26, 2007, 3:53 a.m.the far right things that they have to get involved with everything under the sun, Christian Churches and organizations should be about going out and telling others about Jesus' saving grace through his death on the cross, and his shed blood. NOT getting involved with (in the biblical sense) ******s
