'Compromise' - hmmm...
That's a very tricky word. It can be good when it helps you avoid the little spats over what temperature to set the AC and what we're having for dinner tonight.
Just make sure that you're not compromising on the big things in life like happiness and your health. We see too many people 'sacrificing' their lives and happiness and 'settling' for less that they deserve - all under the guise of 'compromise'.

Right, compromises like I'll let you sleep with her if you buy me a new car probably will not work in the long run. But it can't hurt to ask can it.

You met my mother in law have you?
But seriously, if you fell in love with the person why would you want to change them, right. How often does it happen as soon as your comfortable with each other somebody tries to change you.

Corrupt the young, get them away from religion. Get them interested in sex. Make them superficial, destroy their ruggedness. Get control of all means of publicity and thereby: Get the peoples' mind off their government by focusing their attention on athletics, sexy books and plays, and other trivialities.

Very good point...
However, in looking back over the last few thousand years, there has been very little difference in organized religion and government control of the people - they have largely been one in the same.
Which is why the 'promise' of the separation of church and state is so powerful in theory, even though the implementation has been a bit bumpy...

My advice to someone who is thinking about marrying someone is to make two lists. The first list should contain all the things about the other person that you would like to change. The second list should contain all the things from the first list that you can't live with unless they change. If there is anything in the second list, walk away. You can't change anyone.

My grandmother once said "Don't marry some because you want to spend the rest of your life with them, marry them because you couldn't stand the rest of you life with out them".
But this is even better, my wifes grandmother told her on her wedding day "Be a $lut in the bed room and a lady every where else and your man will never stray". And she out lived two husbands.

Sorry but some people think thats what plastic surgery is for, Wrong. Beauty is not skin deep, it's what you chose to show the world with who you are, some of the most ugly people are very attractive.

Here's what we do :-
Have joint account money which both sets of wages go into, from this pay all joinly incurred expenses, fuel food etc and then from the residue create 2 allowances :- His money and her money. That way you both have the same amount to fritter away and can't argue over it!
