This would have been much more exciting for me if someone I didn't think cheated to get there had done it.

Seeing how tons of players have been taking steroids, and haven't been doing nearly as good as Bonds (i.e. Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa, Jose Canseco, etc.), I think it's obvious his skill level is/was extremely high - and maybe he does deserve this record. Regardless, I think it will be broken by A-Rod within the next 10 years and we're pretty sure he isn't on steroids, but then again, how can we be so sure? For all we know 50% of MLB players could be on them! After all, there are certain kinds that aren't detectable.

I believe Barry Bonds used steriods. I believe Barry Bonds is a difficult man who is needlessly hard to get along with. I also believe that Barry Bonds is the greatest player of his generation and perhaps even a couple of generations back. His accomplishment of hitting 756 homeruns was not done by steroids. Steroids didn't hit a 95 mph fastball and the fact that he knocked it out of the deepest part of AT&T at age 43 while obviously not on the juice indicates that he is a special player. There have been truly awful individuals who just happened to be great ballplayers, and they are honored today as great ballplayers. I sincerly hope that history forgets the steroid controversy and Bonds prickly personality and gives him his due as the greatest player of the late 20th and early 21st century.

Hooray for Barry Bonds! No matter what you guys say he wasnt on steroids. They always think prominent athletes used steroids. When Hank Aron hit 755 they said he used a cork bat. When ever athletes (especially minorities) do good people always suspect something illegal.

Way to go Mr. Bonds. Gongrats to Barry thanks for the history. Personally, I don't care if you did or didn't use steroids thanks for the great memory.

Even Bond's Godfather.. Willy Mays.. thinks Ken Griffey Jr. is a better player..

                      I'd agree..

Bond's father who was a GREAT player is probably rolling over in his grave.....

If he hadn't been hurt so many seasons, Griffey Jr would be breaking this record. And there would be no doubt that he did it the right way.

Bonds has achieved a great feat, but it will always be tainted.

Babe Ruth will always be looked up to as the measuring stick of baseball because he was a NATURAL.

bonds "record" couldn't have come at a more fitting time in our nation's history.

since 1994 bonds's shoe size has increased 24% and his jersey size 18%.

Mike Murphy, equipment manager of the San Francisco Giants, testified that since Bonds became a Giant in 1993, the size of his uniform jersey has gone from 42 to 52. His cap size has expanded from 7 1/8 to 7 1/4, even though while it was expanding he shaved his head. (Bonds reportedly shaved his head because his hair was falling out as a result of steroid use.) And Fainaru-Wada and Williams also say Murphy testified that Bonds's baseball shoe size has changed from 10½ to 13.

Steroids, human growth hormone (HGH) and other performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) can cause gradual enlargement of bones in the feet, hands, face, jaw and skull. Bonds has never failed a steroid test, but there is no reliable test for HGH, and chemists concocting PEDs also devise masking ingredients to defeat tests.

This is a disgrace to baseball, only if Griffey never got hurt, he was be able to save the league from all this steroid drama. Another thing that ******es me off about Bonds is it seems that every time he gets up hes going for a homerun or nothing. He doesn't try to be a team player, just going for the records. Also hes an arrogant SOB.

Guess were gonna have to wait for A-Rod or Pujols.
