Bush makes surprise visit to Iraq »

Posted by: TechnologyExpert 2 years, 5 months ago

President Bush made a surprise visit to Iraq on Monday, using the war zone as a backdrop to argue his case that the buildup of U.S. troops is helping stabilizing the country. The president secretly flew 11 hours to Iraq as a showdown nears with Congress over whether his decision in January to order 30,000 more U.S. troops to Iraq is working.

Well. He did the right thing for his cause. But I will believe this all worked when he can announce he is going there and then visit pretty much anywhere he decides, just as if he were going to India or Norway. Being able to visit a highly protected US military site in secret does not indicate safety and stability in a country to me.

Glad to see he's working while the rest of us are on vacation (insert sarcasm here).

At any rate, he's pretty desperate right now, but I'm sure the "report" is already written and will pretty much say what HE wants at this point.

        >>The president has described what he calls "bottom-up" progress in Iraq

Or what others might call "top-down" failure?

Timing of his visit is very important while Britain has withdrawn troops from Iraq, President Bush can make a plea that increase in troops is a right step at this time.

Bush is one of maybe 17 people in the world that think the War was right or going well. He is so far away from reality that it is scary to think he is the a Leader of the most powerful Country. He has singlehandedly made America look weak, like a Paper Tiger Bully. He is responsible for getting nearly 4,000 of our Soldiers killed for nothing. The US Military is now reduced to being the most expensive baby sitting outfit in the world (and that is terribly wrong). Let's rectify the mistakes. Get oout of Iraq, Impeach both Bush & Cheney and admit publicly that the US made a huge mistake voting them in BUT that we know how to correct to failure that is this Presidency. We know right from wrong and we correct our mistakes. Write your Senators and Representatives now, don't wait. Lets get back to feeling good about America and re-establishing our reputation in the world.

Chicken George sneaks in and out of Iraq to demonstrate how safe it is to enter and leave the country. Too bad our troops can't do their duty in the same way.

GW,announce you are going to Iraq next time and you might get some respect here at home. LOL

                    Today is 'Labor Day"

So Bush honors American Working Men & Women and the Labor Movement how???

At the end of his Presidency on Jan 20, '09 - George and his entire family should be inducted into the military - and deployed to Iraq for the duration.

Of course while he's there if anything happens here, a plane crash, a fire somebody passes out from the heat in California it will be a conspiracy that he orchestrated then ran off to safety in secret.

But then again that would have been said anyway no matter where it was he spent Labor Day.

He has done that before and it aint gonna happen this time. Sorry Mr President. It's a public holiday so I guess he's trying to get our attention by going there, have a photo-op, speak to the troops, try to get their morals up and tells us Americans he's been right all along. Well, Im fed up with it quite frankly. He should just resign for Christ sake.

Bush is declaring that Iraq (soon to be 51st State) is now almost safe enough for Oil executives to exploit.

In a few more years, the oil folks might only need a 100,000 U.S. Soldiers to protect them.

Bush will do any and all to continue this wrong war of aggression. Did you hear the word "Fear" again at the end of his speech? It gets so tiresome to see this lunatic continue this charade of leadership. He should be tar and feathered and drummed out of our nations capital with his executive advisor and mentor, Cheney by his side.

In the end whether Democrat or Republican your leaders will continue our corporate policy of enforcement on nations and that is what we have became, "World enforcers", while losing men and money for what?

There is NO job to finish other than bring reality & our troops back. We are now the highest paid babysitters the world has ever known - so much for Bush's vision. He is a sick man with sicker neocon friends doin good only for his buds in the Military Industrial Complex and Big Oil. What a pathetic Presidency!
