Fred Dalton Thompson as Arthur Branch on Law and Order made a good District Attorney for New York County. Fred Thompson was an average Senator from Tennessee. I am hopeful that his entry into the race and his ability to split the evangelical vote between himself and Mike Huckabee leaves the Republican party at a disadvantage going into the primaries. If the Republicans cannot unite around Rudy Giuliani or Fred Thompson well enough in advance, the Republicans may have to spend far more money than they want before a candidate is selected. That is great news for the Democrats.

I am definitely not in favor of Ron Paul. Of all the Democrats, he worries me the most. Giuliani does not have the staying power to survive this election. I fear Hillary will receive the party nod, but really, John Edwards should get it.

As for my vote, it will go to Kucinich in the primary if he remains in the race through May 08. Pennsylvania is one of the last states to vote. Otherwise, I agree with Scott, I am voting for John Edwards.

I just want a Demobrat to go ahead and win the thing, so when after four years we still have:

          - A large presence in Iraq

          - Acceleration in the inequality gap

          - Jobs going overseas

          - Corporations getting subsidies

          - Substandard job growth

          - A weak dollar

          - Threats or bombs still being thrown at Iran

          - A huge trade deficit with China

          - A huge budget deficit

          - No universal health care

          - The NAU proceeding as planned

I'm going to ask my Libs what happened to the Demobrats fixing all these things, to which I'll get the response,

"Um.. Well at least we gave amnesty to all those illegal immigrants and finally abandoned Afghanistan!!! So there!!!"

I'm going to be throughly impressed, Libs.

It pleases me well that the primitive Christians are hesitant, may they remain so until after the election. But if they have to be on some Republican's band wagon, Thompson would suit me fine because I don't think he can win. Did anyone read the article about the town meeting where he said Iraqis were fleeing because of a smoking ban by Al-Qaida? Sheesh, go on. Nominate him. This election would be a snap.

The Fundamentalists only believe in "God's Law."

On the show, Thompson administered "man's law," sometimes over "God's Law."

That wouldn't sit well with Evangelicals...

Thompson will never be elected, never. Sadly, Hillary will beat him in the elections, why Iraq and the leadership and unholy scandals within the Republican party. Fred's an actor and I watched his anger at a breakfast meeting, sorry Fred is neither Presidential material. Well must quantify, neither is the corrupt Hillary with her Pardon Bill by her side running this country.

Accept it Republicans your party has been run into the sewer with Republicanism now standing for big government, deficit spending and a parriah against other nations of this world. I can hear it now, the commode is flushing.

A fred/Hillary race would be interesting, but I don't think Hillary wins it. I think Fred does.

Keep in mind the electoral college. The popular vote means nothing.

I wonder who Fred's VP would be? Hillary goes with Edwards, I think.

If you're going to quote someone, why Ann? That's like quoting Carvel.

The hair cut shot was actually a build up to some of the Edwards comments and his trying to be a "normal" guy. He's an attorney who makes money by sueing people. He doesn't build anything or employ people, he takes money out of our pockets by sueing employers. The other problem I have with him, he's the first to demand limiting the pay scales of CEO's yet refuses to discuss caping all legal fees and settlements.

Well, if Evangelicals want to vote for a Nixon crony, then they definitely lose their vaunted throne of 'morality'.

After all, to Evangelicals, corruption is a value not a vice.

To Evangelicals, white supremacy is a value not a vice.

To Evangelicals, facism is a value not a vice.

Supporting or voting for Freddy Kreuger is the equivalent of a vote for Nixon, or Joe McCarthy.

You liberal guys shut the f. up, I am voting Fred because he is a kick a$$ American who supports 2nd amendment. Fred wanted our Constitution to be played as an "important factor" in our government. Gun controls and all other liberals b.s. laws need to be thrown out. This is becoming more like Socialism (Hillary) vs. federalism (Fred) for 08.

Thompson is doing this to impress his friends. He will in NO WAY even get nominated. All the brewhaha is coming from anyone looking for a sparkle in the night sky that flickers just somewhat brighter than the big dipper. What you repugs need is someone even remotely as shiny as a brown piece of dirt, and I don't see him anywhere on the horizon.

If you repugs want to really stir the pot, push for Condoleeza! The press will be all over her like flies to uh....you know.
