A new video purportedly featuring an introduction from al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was released Tuesday -- the sixth anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington.

Although CNN could not independently confirm the authenticity of the video, it did feature the logo of As-Sahab Media, the company that traditionally handles al Qaeda communications to the public.
The 47-minute videotape was obtained by terrorism expert Laura Mansfield before it was to appear on several Islamist Web sites known for carrying statements from al Qaeda and other radical groups.

comparing the current image with past images I think this curent image is a fake... or a duplicate binladen... someone made up to look like him, because the real bin landed is dead..... er.. just my opinion.

It's curious that the hyjacker Waleed al-shehri that Bin Laden praises is not on the Flight Manifest of AA Fl 11, perhaps he just slipped on board while no one was looking.

If, in fact, Osama is still alive, he sure isn't making any effort to convince anyone of that fact. This deal looks very much to me like a fake. Putting audio over a still photo is a good way to avoid having to synch the voice artist with the old video.

And let's not forget that Bin baby was trained AND armed by our very own C.I.A. to fight the Russians. That effectively makes him a mercenary for our government. His face only really shows up when they feel they have to make people feel afraid. So what now...the 911 event that will usher in the attack on Iran. Don't forget the bush version of Hitler's enabling act. One more stunt like that and he takes total control. And If he starts another war, he doesn't have to leave office.

I would feel a lot better if it were not for the fact that this and all the 3 earlier videos that proved to be frauds, were not handled, downloaded, and translated by the Northeast Intelligence Network. This is clearly a zionist organization headed by such notarized persons as Lee kaplan, the founder of the extreme zionist group, the Dafka, and is so Pro Israel as to never, and I repeat, never to give an Arab any good press at all. The man simply hates Muslims too much to ever be unbiased. As he is obviously Israel minded, I feel his efforts cannot be trusted. The same could be said of his predecessor Laura Mansfield, who supplied the translations for the earlier videos. Israel wants this turmoil in the middle east, and it serves its purposes to keep Bin Laden as a threat. How can this source ever be trusted for the truth? More Israeli intel like that used by Bush to legitimise his Iraq invasion, and we all saw how flawed that intel was.

And as noted by Joeblowe above, this is a still photo with added audio. The photo is said to be computer enhanced to darken the beard and make him appear more robust, whatever that means. How easy is it to simply have the dialogue manufactured onto any device from snips and pieces of other speeches? I see it all the time. Where is proof of dating, like the newspaper also mentioned by Joe. How about a second counter on the video to show any altering effects? Sorry, this stuff isn't hollywood enough yet. If OBL went through the time to even make an audio, why not an actual video as well, instead of a still photo imposed onto video? I think it's going to turn out as another fraud tape. But who keeps making these tapes and why? Sorry, the earlier referrence post was Big G's.

It is not unusual for people in the middle east to darken their beards..it is all part of their macho male image BS. He probably darked his beard to cause debate in this country as to the tapes origin.

The last 4 or 5 years, OBL has NOT been a priority for our president, now on the anniversary of 9/11, all i have seen on the news is how powerful AlQuada has become, building their armies, yada yada!! OBL and AlQuada have not been important until the LAST days of Bushies term, and suddenly yet again, everyone is being expected to cower to the threat of OBL and AlQuada.
More scare tactics! Bush needs to get some new material!

No only does the bin laden look like a "look alike" in the videos, but the message reads as if it were put together by a committee.
Compare the nose, the eyes, and there must be a reason for that much fuller beard.

I know the oil guys who planned this war. They told me that they would never admit Bin Laden is dead for fear of him becoming a martyr. I know he is dead. I wonder which of America's enemies put together this fake vid, Bush or Al queada? They could have had him raise up a newspaper but it would have been too easy to discover the trickery.

It's nice to know that Bin Laden can still get ahold of some Grecian Formula for his beard. I guess since Bush isn't that interested in catching him, he can take time to go to the local drug store for some grooming needs and assorted sundries. But then again, Bush couldn't catch a headcold.

In a Breaking News story, it is being reported that Osama bin Laden has returned to Queen Elizabeth the white pillbox hat that he had stolen from her several years ago, and had been wearing. He has replaced it with a pale blue cloche hat, replete with a diamond-encrusted hat pin and an ostrich feather. Officials close to the reclusive despot say that this better matches a blue leather evening purse that he carries with him at all times. No word on whether he has his nails done or not, but it's been reported that a man with a French manicure, and resembling bin Laden's description, has been seen exiting Gorina's Nail Emporium in downtown Kabul.
