Sept. 11, 2007, 7:46 p.m.propeller.com it is. It will probably get more visitors in the long run as it will be able to step out of netscape's shadow and form it's own identity.

Sept. 11, 2007, 9:39 p.m.This is the way it should be done. Too often, in the past, Netscape users have had changes dropped in their laps without warning. And too often it has seemed that the "Netscape Team" couldn't be bothered with questions from those "members."
This looks like Tom Drapeau has finally received the message. Netscape cannot do anything it likes TO its members, in fact it only exists because of its members.
This is a firm step in the right direction, and Tom, James, and the rest should understand that we appreciate it.

Sept. 12, 2007, midnightGreat name. All us propeller heads should feel right at home. Actually, I really like the idea of a editorially driven news site that's tightly integrated into the social news destination.
I had some misgivings when the change was first announced. You know us conservatives. Suspicious of any sudden changes. But I think I'm going to like this change.

Sept. 12, 2007, 12:15 a.m.Ok, I'm now happy again :) I like the name and I love the logo. This should be fun.
And, it sounds like there's going to be some interesting stuff going on with Netscape as well with the integrated social aspects. Still, I hope that the current AOL/Netscape page is not the final design for the main site because it is really no different from AOL as of now. Please tell me that the AOL staff is not going to be in control of the netscape.com content.

Sept. 12, 2007, 8:17 a.m.Well, I guess I'm the only one who thinks that the new name is stupid. But I still plan to switch over. And I'd better see everyone I like and dislike or I'm out.

Sept. 12, 2007, 9:13 a.m.We'll see how it goes. There will certainly be a few hang ups, glitches and other things that we will have to work through, but hopefully it will be a smooth transition.
We (the Community) will have to be patient and remain calm as things change. I'm in.

Sept. 12, 2007, 10:11 a.m.Ok. Propeller sounds fine. But the 'new' netscape portal just seems to be the old AOL page. There is really nothing new there except a redirection, so I am not really sure that I understand the point of the change.
Also, I think it will cause alot of confusion as people who have become used to Netscape being a social page will come and suddenly find themselves looking at an AOL page.
At the VERY least I hope that the 'new' netscape portal will feature a HUGE ad for propeller, for at least a month, so that people who have not read this announcement will understand the change. Otherwise, you risk that Propeller will die and will require alot of marketing and nurturing to bring it back to life.

Sept. 12, 2007, 10:21 a.m.It's about time that they realized that most people don't want a main page with a bunch of idiots yammering on it. They want The News - and maybe some other content. You know - like Netscape USED to be. Anyone remember how I advised AGAINST this "social news" stuff when they first did it? I don't personally own any stock, so I don't care all that much, but who knows, maybe some of the people I know who reset their home pages for Netscape/Mozilla to msn.com or cnn.com will come back to Netscape.com. I expect that's what they are hoping, anyway.

Sept. 12, 2007, 10:50 a.m.Ok ,everything in superlatives here ... read all comments now and all stuff from blog but I still have some questions and I'm sure that other members want to know this .
Technical part:
On of the biggest problem was WP plugins (Wordpress ) and some functions on this site . It is irritating when you try to delete yours messages from inbox grrrrrrrr ... is there any change on this problem , will be fixed ?
Slow working of sever isn't something which you can be proud of and I hope that part of problem will be resolved too .
And I really hope better security and no double accounts !
Desgin part :
On the most interesting part of all :( which I already konw )
How was making that new design ?
Which are new features ?
How will looks like new portal ?
So , we are flying , right ? With propeller .. LAMO
Mr.James as caption of this flying thing I hope that you known better to drive then to jump :D
I must get some aviator mask Mr.James for ya :D

Sept. 12, 2007, 11:22 a.m.'Netscape Social News Update'
This so-called New netscape has been a Major Disgrace in the IT World since the implementation...
The past Netscape GM Calicalis, CK, and some so-called Anchors are gone but, they left a Pile of Garbage behind them...
The Netscape staff appears to be very poor in the Design, Development, and Implementation of New releases...
It also does not appear Netscape has a QA 'Quality Assurance' staff to properly test the new releases before they are installed for Netscape User's...
Netscape User's Deserve better, only time will Tell???
