Sept. 14, 2007, 11:22 a.m."BUSH SAID:
"Anbar province is a good example of how our strategy is working," Bush said, noting that just last year U.S. intelligence analysts had written off the Sunni area as "lost to al-Qaida."
"FACT CHECK:
"Early Thursday, the most prominent figure in a U.S.-backed revolt of Sunni sheiks against al-Qaida in Iraq was killed by a bomb planted near his home.
"The killing of a chief Anbar ally hours before Bush spoke showed the tenuous and changeable nature of success in Anbar and Iraq at large.
Although Sunni sheiks have defied al-Qaida and largely allied with U.S. forces in Anbar, the province remains violent and al-Qaida remains a threat."

Sept. 14, 2007, 11:55 a.m.Oops! Sorry for the extra "P" in the title. I'm 1/2 asleep today I think.
So, what do you all think about this?
If no one else will express themselves I will take the plunge:
I think Bush is full of it. He wants to stay in the war and that's all there is to it. He has his mouthpieces in place and if they want to keep their jobs (or resign to spend more time with their family) they will have to do what Bush wants.
Congress, I'm sure will cow tow to him and also continue giving the spoiled child what he wants: More death, more destruction and spawning more hatred among terrorists towards Americans.
And there are the US Troops doing Bush's will and some will be killed or wounded, some for life just because Bush wants it that way. Not because he's listened to the majority of the American People!
There, I said my piece, let's hear your opinions!
