So is the whole porn issue a problem just with men, or do women watch it too?
All the cultural and fundamentalist blah blah aside, is there anything wrong with watching porn? How about a couple watching porn or erotic movies together sometimes to enhance their sex lives?
Please chime in - what do You think?

I think all the guys here are looking for women that will admit they are addicted to porn so they will know who they'd like to email. In any case, the Kinsey report put to rest the male centered theories that only men like sex and like to watch sex. Now if we can just get all those dumb "girls gone wild" annoying commercials off of comedy central, that would be helpful. Is comedy central addicted to soft porn commercials or what? Maybe someone can get them some help. If I see one more of those, I'm gonna shoot my TV.

My first wife Adrienne liked going to see porn movies. Our first movie we went to was Deep Throat. I remember seeing an Andre True movie only because she had that hit years later, More More More. My dear wife liked having sex with hispanics and ex-cons as well, if one was both the better. After six years of counseling, I gave up. Do not think trailer park... Her second marriage was to a high paid Aero engineer.

Just like other addictions. There are those who admit they are addicted. That's the first step toward recovery. Then there are those who are still in denial, some so deeply that they have never even watched a porn movie.
Only after they rise up to the level of consciousness where they can admit their addiction can the Addiction Industry swing into gear and "cure" them of their "disease".
Of course, as soon as they are cured, they go right back into denial, and need to be treated all over again. The only hope that the Addiction Industry sees is that it's utterly hopeless. :)

Possibly like Japan, where "erotica" or what portends to be erotic/soft porn pervades everything, to the extent that it has beome "Image overload".
And you CAN have too much of a good thing, at least visually!

I agree with you that romance novels are essentially the same thing although I don't think they carry the same stigma.

If you enjoy watching porn and your partner watches or doesn't and is ok with it then why not. My husband loves horror movies and I don't, I don't have a problem with him watching them and on occasion I will watch with him. This really is a personal preference but as with anything too much of a good or bad thing can turn into an addiction.

I must admit I do enjoy watching porn. However, much of the porn today is not very good. I think more women would enjoy porn if the porn makers would stop zeroing in on the action and have the actors/actresses put a little more emotion into it. Too much of the porn today is just to get it on(you know wham bam thank you maam/sir). The thing that really turns me off is that for the most part kissing is not part of the program. I am kinda funny like that. If I don't like the women enough to kiss her, I don't want to screw her either.

More women are making porn these days, so content will change noticeably. By making, I mean producing and directing, not just starring in. I personally like some humour thrown in with my porn, DigitalPlayground is good stuff for that. Big budget, cga effects AND female owned & operated. It's just nice to see something other than boring scene clips with moody, ambient tune overlays which has become popular, or that Red Shoe Diaries crap. I can't stand that stuff.
I'm not addicted, though, or anything. Lol!

what is interesting is the mainstream 'straight' porn is anything BUT - every single movie has a girl-girl scene in it. that might be fine for men, or women who are bi or curious, but what about those who are NOT? why pray tell do they not cater the reverse in the mainstream porn industry... the reverse of the ultimate male fantasy? for instance, "Brokeback Mountain" had an enormous female following and male-male erotica or slash fiction became hugely popular with females.
Bisexual MMF (guy-guy-girl) porn is now some of the highest selling/renting, fastest-growing porn genre w/ literally hundreds of titles. also She Males and Women w/Strap-Ons doing Men in role reversals... but it is NOT just men buying these titles - over 30% of ALL MALE porn is sold to WOMEN. yet, anything w/ ANY contact between the men with women involved gets shelved or designated as GAY, however about 99% of 'straight' porn has FFM (girl-girl-guy) stuff in it. anyone besides me see the double standard??

Porn is like fire. Either you have control over it, or, it controls you, leaving behind something you probably don't want to show you grandchildren. I think the old guy with the "wide stance" can agree with this now.

Odd viewing...i could direct you to some web sites with some very odd viewing.
The problem with porn is that it represents sex like a ferrari represents driving. It can become a "hard" standard to match.
however there is a niche for everything.
and to think my wife was surprised when I ordered all those leather goods.

I've known this for years. Women think just like men when it comes to sex and are frequently more perverted about it. Why do U think all those babes go for bad boys? Porn has frequently gotten me what I want from a woman.

Aside from the porn addiction, most women are physically addicted to air, water, and food. They will literally die without regularly consuming a dangerous cocktail of all three!!!
In addition, to physical addiction, many women also suffer from psychological addictions. In this latter case, they only think they will die without the object of their addiction.
For example, in reality most women are better off barefoot and pregnant. Despite this, many women think they would just die without shoes.
Similarly, many women are psychologically addicted to love and to gossip.
Despite millions of dollars spent yearly in research to cure these feminine addictions, no cure is in sight.

yeah, i'm kind of stuck on the concept of "porn addiction" too. human beings are meant to have strong, in fact very strong, sexual urges, otherwise there wouldn't be any mixing of the dna and new people here all the time. our brains and our hormones are pretty much wired for sex once we reach puberty and there's no getting around it.
now, if you're ignoring your girl friend or wife and she complains she's not getting enough (or vice versa), while you're sitting there dating yourself all the time, that's a problem, but at least you're doing something, so probably just some short term counseling is in order.
personally, i think the term "porn addiction" is pretty stupid, given our biology and physiology. we're really supposed to be porn and sex addicted once we reach sexual maturity.
the thing is, you don't want to hurt or ignore anyone by your actions, but that really stems from other concepts, not sexuality itself.

We're supposed to porn addicts?
Umm...I don't think so. That is just weird. You sound like a fun chick for a Saturday night but I'd have some serious concerns about my girl being a porn addict and wouldn't take you seriously.
Watching a porn flick with your girl is one thing....being an addict is weird behavior.

there definitely is a porn addiction, though... it is also quite strong amongst those in the church. it is way too easily accessible and porn is EYE CANDY... it sends an impulse wave to the brain that releases endorphines and well, in many cases, becomes an addiction - and then, just like drugs in many people, it can lead to harder (no pun intended) porn or more perverse shall we say.
the old Playboys get old and then next do the Penthouse and Hustlers, the classic straight porn, which leads to barely legal stuff (18-19 yo) and amateur stuff, then gang bang stuff, Creampies, Strap-On, She Males, Bi MMF, then S&M or bondage, FemDom, Cuckolding, bodily excretions, K9 and beastyality, blood, lolitas or younger... super perverted, gross and even illegal stuff until it just looks and feels dark, evil and twisted.
eBay is full of that... yes, eBay... where you can shop 'victoriously' for ANY fetish if you search hard enough or just use Google Images - the free sampling platter of porn.

Personally I do not have a problem with Porn at all. All but a few of the women that I have dated have not had a problem with it. Most of them watched it with me. To me porn is not cheating. It does not mean that I want someone else. It does not mean that you are not good enough for me. Seems to me women that have problems with it have some insecuritues about themselves. It also has to do with openmindedness as well.

Are there no psychologists on here? In all actuality, porn hurts most relationships. People tend to take it to the point that "normal" sexual relationships are difficult to maintain. It raises a man's threshold for stimulation so that normal acts no longer can get him to the same level of arousal. It does hurt relationships. Men or women.

to a degree, I would have to agree with you... your very first porn images our pastor at Lifechurch.tv says are emblazened in your brain... indelible images and our society today sexualizes children at such a young age with booby-trapped porn sites and spam that their naivete vanishes or their appreciation of sex within its context is seriously damaged.
At http://www.Lifechurch.tv - on the 6th-7th of October, they are tackling in person and online the multi-BILLION dollar PORN INDUSTRY and its effects on all within or without the church... it is a partnership with www.xxxchurch.com and UNPRECEDENTED in any major church. Craig says that it is time to attack the 'Elephant in the Pew' - LOL.
Porn ruins lives, ruins marriages... it can be enhancing, but only if it is able to be controlled... it is like heroin... sure, there are a very few who can use it without addiction, but it is playing with fire. Sexaholics Anonymous say almost all Sexual Addiction in men or women BEGINS with PORN.

For some people, porn is just another tool in getting off, and they have no trouble having a full and satisfying sex life with their life partners. If you use porn to enhance or complement your sex life, more power to you. It's when porn is your sex life, you have to start worrying.

Porn would be better if only it wasn't so stupid!
As in;
- Lesbians getting it on together and then these so called "LESBIANS" end up giving ******to guys!
- Sex starved young teens playing innocent housewives while wearing Biker Gang tattoos! LOL
- Sex in bed but NEVER taking their heels off! Like were they free shoes for doing the part? Or to run from the cops!
- The GUYS they have sex with must be prison inmates on day parole! All the dirtiest sleaziest characters you could imagine!
- Hearing the director reminding the stupid 'actress' to quit blocking the camera with her arm!
- moaning like crazy when no one is touching them!
- Looking off-camera for their directions.
The softcore Emmanuel series were good, with Silvia Crystal, would have been great as hard core because they spent time to get production values. And the Zalman King Red Shoe Diaries were well done.
Oh well, can't expect quality when goofs are producing it these days.

how about when their mouths are full of manhood and they have conversations with good dicktion? LOL... that is a real trick.
what about when they lay on their backs getting it and their silicone boobs do not move one inch and to top it all off, the budget surgery scars underneath are very unpleasant on the eyes.
'amateur' porn where they have ACTRESSES pretending to be amateurs... lol... give me the couple next door stuff, thanks.
or Bisexual MMF porn where the guys are totally gay and repulsed bi the obligatory touching of women used as decor... LOL... that is NOT bi porn.... that is gay porn with female window dressing.
or the porn with stories and they TRY to act... try... and the worst are the Hollywood takeoffs or Sci-Fi stuff wth tinfoil and styrofoam sets.
or gay (or some bi) porn where the guys' bodies are all baby oiled up in a 'normal' setting, reflecting the overhead studio lamps...lol.
I just want my porn to be somewhat real, authentic, erotic and PASSIONATE.

I like my porn to be...pornographic. With emphasis on the "graphic."
But disembodied body parts/robotic couplings become tiresome and anti-erotic.
The main requirement in porn and "real life" sex is, I think, enthusiasm.
