Sept. 26, 2007, 3:51 a.m.From the article: "The scope of this prohibition is breathtaking," Waxman wrote. "On its face, it means that unless the committee agrees to keep the information secret from the public . . . the committee cannot obtain information about whether Mr. Maliki himself has been involved in corruption or has intervened to block corruption investigations."
Corruption overfloweth. Why defend these guys? Why not do the right thing? This is just beyond comprehension.
JohnQPublic was right when he said we the people have no more power.

Sept. 26, 2007, 4:23 a.m.So? The Bush Administration has demonstrated utter contempt for the rule of law, and and absolutely no inclination to accept responibility or accountability for anything, ever, anywhere.
And the Democrats have proved spineless in opposing them.
The neocons no doubt have their plots and plans in place.
Time to make your own plans, because there will come a time when there is no way to leave 'Der Reich der Heimaten.'

Sept. 26, 2007, 9:21 a.m.And the Congress is busy spending its time condemning Ahmedinejad. Well, at least they have their priorities straight. Not.

Sept. 26, 2007, 12:05 p.m.That figures. King George wouldn't want to risk anything happening to his Religious-Right Brownshirts in case he decides to exercise marshal law before January of 2009.

Sept. 26, 2007, 12:31 p.m.Why am I now surprised. The dude that owns this company, is a former Navy SEAL, who has given quite liberally to the RNC and to President Dumb-Ass and to evangelical organizations. The only thing that will come out of this is more people joing the insurgents to get revenge for the deaths of their loved ones. I know I would if this had happened here

Sept. 26, 2007, 3:44 p.m.So you think that it is OK for a company to go into Iraq and kill civillians, mishandle tax dollars, and do whatever they want without oversight at all?

Sept. 26, 2007, 4:29 p.m.From the article:
**In his own letter to Rice on Tuesday, Waxman called her department's latest efforts to withhold information from the committee "extraordinary" and "unusual."**
My, such strong language. The State dept. must be trembling. Will these people in Congress ever grow a spine and recognize the Constitutional showdown they are in for what it is?

Sept. 26, 2007, 4:42 p.m.Its becoming pretty apparent that the individual warlords in the ME arent the only ones putting together a private militia. Seems the Republicans want one too, except they want it paid for with taxpayer dollars.

Sept. 26, 2007, 7:57 p.m.The impeachment should begin NOW! We have had enough! The actions of this administration are appallingly egregious. And Congress is busy censoring Moveon.org for an ad. Couldn't they for just once pull their heads out of their butts and consider something truly important.
I realize that they must spend their time filling campaign coffers with corporate lucre to ensure their continued presence in Washington. NOT! It is time for them ALL, Republican and Democrat alike, to ponder the framing of our Constitution and the men who pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to found this nation. Most of the yahoos in congress have no comprehension of the import of those words. Sacred honor? From a bunch of arse kissers whose major talent is the hypocritical comment regarding anything suggested by an opponent, we can expect nothing that even approaches statesmanship.
A pox upon them all.

Sept. 27, 2007, 5:35 p.m.Being someone who is a centrist, but swings very, very, slightly to the left, I am wondering why congress hasn't had any type of hearings into this. At the very least, I thought the San Fernando Valley terrier, Henry Waxman, would be tearing someone a new one by now
