Excellent article. I don't have a problem with a female becoming President, but I do have a problem with Hillary Clinton being President. I agree with the characteristics the article says a could candidate should possess, and if any candidate like that, male or female, comes along I'll be more than happy to vote for her/him.

The ole sexist card won't sway me on this one. I don't like her political views; it would matter not if she were a man. One day, when the woman for the job comes along I will vote for her, Hillary just isn't the one that would garner my vote. Add to the fact that the same two families have been taking turns mucking up the nation for almost twenty years now, I feel it's time to see a president with a different last name in charge.

While a woman President would be a bonus, the only thing better would be one that was neither Rep. or Dem. because if either of these got elected all the woes of c l i t. or shrub would be their fault. And whether a BJ and the financial support of friends by c l i t . is equal to the contracts given to hallibortion and friends by shrub won't solve the problems that will face them.

Face it, the last 25 years of Presidents have done more to divide your country than unite it

If anyone thinks that the "Sexist" card being played will make me fold my chips, dream on! I will be proud to pull the lever for Anyone-But-Hillary next Election Day

Forty years ago there was little difference between the parties. There were liberals, moderates, and conservatives in both parties. Goldwater pulled the Republicans to the right and Kennedy-Johnson pulled the Democrats to the left. As time went on the conservative "Solid South" of the Democrats moved to the Republicans and liberals were pulled to the Democrats. At that point the Candidates would play to the base of their party and be more centrist for the general election. In comes moveon.org and a close Busch win and the rhetoric has become nasty from the left with some reaction on the right as well.

Politics has become very divisive in order to play to the base. I just wish they would passionately discuss the issues and not the people. Hate speech seems to rule a lot of the left.

Why should the gender of the President matter?

Oh, I see...this is a snide hit job.

                  Have fun!

If a candidate earns my respect then they have my vote. Hillary has yet to do so but I'd vote for Condi in a hot sec. So far none of the candidates has even an iota of respect from me.

I personaly don't care if the next president is male, female, transgender, white, black, red, yellow, plaid or purple with lime green polkadots. I want someone who' got the moxy to do the job while representing the values of the majoririty of AMERICA, not just the values of moveon.org.

So far, Clinton ain't my gal. Too bad Condi just will not run.

What America "needs" is to grow up & start considering the talent, the background, the knowledge, the contributions, the intelligence, and the abilities of the candidates.
