STONERS
Oct. 24, 2007, 1:02 p.m."At the pump, meanwhile, gas prices continued to creep higher. The national average price of a gallon of gas rose 0.2 cent overnight to $2.822, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. Gas prices, which typically lag the futures market, have risen 6.5 cents in a week and a half. Many analysts have predicted prices will have to rise even further if oil prices continue to rally."
And here we go again...

Oct. 24, 2007, 6:06 p.m.I found some old receipts from the gas station I use here in my home town from Jan. 2007, it was $1.86 a gal. Is that a crock of garbage or what?

Oct. 24, 2007, 6:16 p.m.Why is it that about a year ago and even before that, the oil cartel was using the cost per barrel of crude as their rationale for raising prices at the pump on a daily basis? I live in the Chicago metropolitan area and the price at the pump has actually declined since the beginning of summer when the price per barrel was much lower than it is today. Does anyone still believe those idiots and their excuses for ripping us off? Everytime a sheikh in Abu Dhabi farts there goes the price per barrel of crude. I don't believe for a second that there are any 'shortages'. If you tell a big enough lie, everyone starts to believe it.

Oct. 24, 2007, 6:33 p.m.Great, that explains why the price of a barrel of oil has tripled! Good thing other products and services are not priced like oil. We couldn't afford them either.

Oct. 25, 2007, 2:44 a.m.We need a leader with the vision and voice to launch a real energy independence campaign.
If we taxed oil products at 50% gasoline would cost over $5 a gallon. Use the revenue produced solely to fund research and development of energy independence. And the cost increase would alter American behavior. Guys wouldn't buy crew cab 1-ton pickups to look macho on their occasional trip to the mall. People would carpool. Public transportation projects would become feasible and when built would find riders.
You can boil all of America's problems down into one overarching problem. A failure of leadership. Nobody in leadership has the will and persuasive power to sell the hard choices we need to make to avoid economic and environmental disaster.

Oct. 25, 2007, 3:07 a.m.A while back the NY Times said we weren't at peak oil but ALL the methods the article described being used (like forced salt water) were those indicating a depleted supply. So even THEY are complicit in the lies...
It's not an infinite supply, folks.
People who say we aren't at peak oil are often the same ones who are global warming deniers.
We'll ALL be driving those little three wheeled ice-cream truck looking things they have in the Middle East, or those little tiny (French?) cars that look like speculums (sorry : )
And the one hour trip to the city or the country will take 4 hours.
We'll adjust.

Oct. 25, 2007, 10:20 a.m.It's probably not going to matter in the U.S. before too long, anyway. We'll be more concerned about our water supply, or lack thereof, than we are about anything else.

Oct. 25, 2007, 10:37 a.m.Oil prices and gasoline prices don't compute. How can crude oil cost approximately $2.10 per gallon and refined gasoline be the same? It sounds manipulated to me.

Oct. 25, 2007, 10:43 a.m.This is nothing more than pure greed. Canada and the U.S. have many oil reserves. We have no shortage of oil at the moment. And we are rich with oil, we must start to employ our very own people to harvest it, so to speak. This continent is rich with oil!
Pure and simple, this is greed at it's very best.

Oct. 25, 2007, 10:46 a.m.I thought someone ran a article that Gas Prices were going to decline because Winter Blend was easier to produce .
I joked and said yesterday , someone must have sneaked in and siphoned gas at the inventory holding area .
Man you would think they would watch it better .
A lot of people will be spending less this Holiday season because Gas prices force them to spend more on getting to work and back , but the Marketeers don't care they just raise Oil and Gas prices and keep smiling .
Knew the scam was just around the corner , Gas prices went down and someone had a extra quarter in their pocket , can't have people with extra money , raise the price again .

Oct. 25, 2007, 1:26 p.m.It seems like we just can't get it. I guess we have blinders on. Oil is a part of the grand scheme of things for Islam. They have it .. we don't or don't have the will to get it. We have become addicted to oil and the middle east oil pushers are in control. Just like drug addicts. The pusher says jump and they ask how high. Until we have the resolve to go to oil rehab and kick the addiction we will be under their power. Their objective is to dominate and control the world and what better way to do it then get the world dependent on oil and then turn off the flow or turn up the price. Don't think for a minute that it's just the oil. The problem runs a lot deeper.
