The cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan could total $2.4 trillion through the next decade, or nearly $8,000 per man, woman and child in the country, according to a Congressional Budget Office estimate scheduled for release today.

What's ironic(and depressing)is that this new figure equals almost exactly the same amount that is estimated would cost to repair the entire US infrastructure. They say it would take a full generation to accomplish, and here we have Bush blowing it all in a 10 year span on a place 7,000 miles from our borders.

Afghanistan had a purpose but a lot of the poor white trash who voted for Bush are going to have to sell their babies to pay for his Iraq war...

Everyone who voted Bush and crooks for a second term must be forced to pay for this mess.
Further, keep records of all those who will vote for the Republicans and send bills to them. Cause, it is Republicans who are stonewalling an end to this illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq.

Does that factor in the cost of paying VA medical care for all the wounded troops? Oh wait, they'll probably just be left high and dry, never mind.
Come on you guys, what's 32,000 to the average family of 4? Pretty close to the median after-tax yearly income for the same family? Whatever, families don't really need an income, do they?
No more than veterans need medical care, anyway...

"$8,000.00 per person", plus interest, plus more interest! As bad as credit card debt, only difference is that instead of owing the bank, we owe China, Japan and Russia. Now, that is a scarey thought!

Is fighting wars on borrowed money sound? One thing that will become synonymous with the Bush administration is the word INCOMPETENT.

Try asking the money grubbers who condone this war, while profiting, about having taxes raised on the rich and see what their answer is. They desire wars but the greed of these conservatives is amazing. Neil Cavuto and that crowd of wall street tycoons and bankers are a blight on America and would be within any nation. Our elite leaders continue to be voted in yearly. Any poor representatives out there?
None there, takes millions to run for a job that satiates the greed and corruption within a human.

Acer, 25 year old middle class men and women are not children, and can afford their own insurance. Why wont the defeatocrats allow the 5 billion dollar expansion of Schip to pass? Why do they have to try and sneak socialized medicine past us? Just like they are once again trying to do with the nightmare act?

8000 dollars for every man, woman and child. Yet they cut taxes. And that 8000 is not being paid immediately so there is interest that has to be paid on that money! Aren't they embarrassed to pass that amount of debt on to their children. The new generation of taxpayers need to stand up to the present day tyrants and proclaim, We aint gonna take it anymore!"
