Poll: Colbert Could Be Frontrunner Within Month »
Posted by: Aidenag 2 years agoLess than a week ago, shortly after he announced for president, Stephen Colbert was favored by only a little more than 2% of Democrats as the favorite for the nomination. Now, a Rasmussen Report national telephone survey has found that he gains 13% of voters in a matchup with Rudy Giuliani and Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Oct. 26, 2007, 11:09 a.m.but why repeat the error (lie) that colbert is
"the only 'candidate' to directly confront George Bush and the media elite?"
oh. it's because ron paul and dennis kucinich and mike gravel are not "serious" candidates according to the same elite corporate media.
they have already selected hillary. now they just have to make it look inevitable.

Oct. 26, 2007, 11:16 a.m.Could Colbert really do a worse job than any of the current lot? I can't see how that is possible?
Sometimes I think we just need to disband the current government and start over. Is there anyone in Washington who is not jaded and corrupt? I am tired on voting for the lesser of two evils. If a "no confidence" vote were held today on Congress, and the Executive branch, would either survive? Send all the lobbyists and special interests groups home with them.
Free Doritos for all! I want the Fiery Habenero ones!

Oct. 26, 2007, 1:32 p.m.You can bet that the USUAL SUSPECTS will either start to attack him or to swarm around him, neo-cons and far lefties alike.

Oct. 26, 2007, 1:46 p.m.Honestly, let us step back and reflect. How far worse can the USA really be with Colbert as its President?
In my humble opinion, I don't see it getting any worse than it is now.

Oct. 26, 2007, 1:54 p.m.One thing that might happen as a result of this candidacy. Votes to the Democratic nominee could be siphoned off to Colbert, even as a write-in. I don't think many (R's) will be writing his name down. Not that the likely nominees aren't funny. But that's a different kind of funny.

Oct. 26, 2007, 2:12 p.m.I know Steven plays a goofy comedian on TV, but if you pay attention to what he says, you might note that he is NOT a dummy. He might very well be a better candidate than any of the Democrats anyway. And most of the Republicans.
