Muslim Global Letter Needs a Rational Answer »

Posted by: populist 2 years ago

"If Muslims and Christians are not at peace," the letter observes, "then the world cannot be at peace." The torches-and-pitchforks crowds of both religions want an excuse to destroy, pillage, covert by force, and exploit. Yet these people don't speak for the majority of the peoples of the world.

Ummm, when has a "Christian" fanatic strapped a bomb to themselves and blew up children in the name of "God"? Im not a fanatic, though I do have common sense. Muslims are writing us a letter asking for peace? Come on...

Islamofascist believers from Religion of Peace are currently engaged in armed conflict across the planet with every major religion and a number of minor ones, including other Muslims.

Islam needs to solve it's problem with murderous fanatics. If/when it does I submit that level of violence, destruction and murder will decline dramatically.

I guess the contents of the letter is a secret. Where is the text? It seems like we should be able to view the letter and form our own opinions rather than have it spoon fed, pre digested and interpretted for us. Give me a break. I dont need someone to interpret the letter for me, just let me read it.

Root out the fanatics of the Christians? Okay, start rooting them out when they start blowing up civilians and children and killing people for not converting to Christianity or for converting from Christianity to another religion.

It's not a war against Christians and Muslims. It's a war against some fanatical Muslims and some right-wing ideologues. The right-wing ideologues have painted all Muslims as bad, and the fanatical Muslims have painted all non-Muslims as bad. Unfortunately, most people are caught up in the middle. Our sons, daughters, and families are suffering, and their sons. daughters and families are suffering, because these two idiotic sides can't give up their ideologies or come to some terms.

I found this concept excellent. If communication can be started on both sides..thats heading in the right direction. To do this, both sides must open up..be truthful..listen to what each other is saying. I know this may be hard, for some on both sides of the issue, as bombing and blowing up gives instant gratification to some. The present course of action is not working. It is time to approach the situation differently.

Christian fanatics do not strap bombs to themselves and blow up innocent civilians! They don't they leave their bombs in backpack inside Olympiac Park or outside family planning clinics and gay bars or park truckloads of fertilzer set to explode outside buildings with daycare centers while they run away and hide. So whats he difference.

It is time for Peace but the Muslims must do something to stop the Muslin extremest of their countries and We have to take on our extremest Christian. Like King Abdullah in Arabia, he needs to clean up his backyard, he knows it better than anybody else. A person's concept of God should be what they think it to be as long as it does not harm or antagonize the rest of this world and it's inhabitants any way shape or form.

The fanatics are much more marginal to both religions than many people realize population-wise. They just have bigger mouths. Almost everything the Jihadists supposedly believe is completely in violation of the Quran. The Bible is so full of contradiction and general confusion that you could back up just about any belief from somewhere in it, so Christians pretty much read what they're told. Still, many are far more are socially liberal than people on the right want to realize. Everyone knows a bigot when they see one, Fred Phleps is despised by almost everyone he comes into contact with, no matter what their politics. His entire pulpit is almost solidly his own offspring. Pat Robertson and his type are also way less important to genuine Christianity in America. It is mainly in places like The South where the hatred really is widespread. Scarier than the Christians are the extremists of the anti-Immigration crowd.

Do not confuse Christianity with Islam. Do not assume that everybody believes in freedom. Do not automatically castigate the US without more information. Do not confuse 21st Century Christianity with 1st century Christianity. Do understand that Christ (not always his followers) believed in peace. Do understand that Islam was spread by the sword under the Prophet's direction. Do understand that many Muslims don't even know what the ten commandments are. Do understand that Islam is not a continuation of Christianity in the way Christainity is of Judaism.

                                A quote

"The Crusades were Christian military and religious expeditions launched both against rival religions (primarily Islam) and even other Christians. Not only did the Crusades lay the groundwork for medieval Christian society and feudalism, but they also laid the groundwork for contemporary violence between Muslims and Christians. Both Islam and Christianity become involved with mass murder over religion, holy sites, and religious beliefs for centuries. It's little wonder that so many see religion as more a force for violence than peace."

The key here is tolerance and a willingness to ascend into a modern world.

The past is history and retains knowledge and experience. Only the future can possess hope.

I believe in order for the Muslim religion to validate the true goal of this letter and it's genuineness, they should gather leaders of Muslim countries that have actual laws on their books that persecute those people who would convert to another religion or be caught carrying other religious materials not related to Islam.

In return it must be incumbant for the leaders of the majority Christian countries to turn over Muslim prisoners to their native countries for trial & judgement of their crimes.

Only in the light of good faith jestures will dialogue have to slightest chance for a favorable outcome.

Sincerity's greatest strength lies in unpretentious deeds.

                                    to Islam."

Have these leaders agree to allow the practice of these other religions and the possession of religious materials without the fear of prosecution.

lol... once again people try to compare Islam and Christianity inaccurately.

Islam's own founder, Muhammed, encouraged muslims to convert people by force (the sword). On top of this, Muhammed lived the very kind of life he preached against.

On the contrary, Jesus, not once, encouraged violence. In fact, Jesus intervened when Peter tried to (violently) defend Jesus from the mob that came to arrest him.

"If Muslims and Christians are not at peace"

Peace will never be achieved because Muslims are _instructed_ to, more or less, kill the infidel. That is what their jihads are all about.

Islam is more confining than the most fanatical of Christians. At least Christians don't blow themselves up to become a martyr. Nor do they threaten women who want to be more than a Muslim wife. But at least someone among the Muslims is trying. Who knows?

i see. So the most horrible extremists among the Christians are those from the "anti-Immigration crowd"... and they've probably murdered tens of thousands of innocent Americans and people of other countries already, did they? Further, are you sure that the 'fanatics' in the Muslim countries are "much more marginal" than "many people realize"? For example, what is the percentage of popualtion supporting 'fanatics' of Hezbollah in Lebanon, in your opinion? or 'fanatics' of Hamas in Gaza? or 'fanatics' willing to "erase Israel from the map" in Iran?

This country was founded through faith in God. Founded in freedom to choose the method of faith. This was even before the constitution. One nation under God.

Even in the constitution, it is clear that faithful life is an integral part of good society. The laws dictated have been transcribed from the Bible (which share many laws with other faith-based doctrine). We devised punishment and circumstance based on the understanding of these laws and that is our current law today.

In theory our law is suppose to be just and fair and protect the innocent and loved ones. This is the essential truth in Faith, for it solidifies all love and just action.

Those who say the constitution has nothing to do with God is obviously lost in their own scalp splitting as many hairs as possible to seem intelligent and valid. This nation would not have come to fruition if Faith didn't drive people from Europe and abound. Before God was in America, people sacrificed their virgin daughters to pebbles.

Also, Christians, Jews, Muslims have all taken turns committing atrocity. We just need to stop.

We should have the compassion to live freely with the next man in brotherhood and share divine insight and wisdom. You will notice that the truly wise say nothing of death and destruction but talk of peace and spiritual compliance.

Women have been subjugated since the dawn of man, by reason of their weaker physical ability (in general, women are smaller/lighter). This needs to change in a world of reason and love. Women should be the first to be heard and the last to be persecuted, because women are naturally nurturing a locing. Of course there are evil women, but in general. I consider my wife my equal, although many view a difference in status between the viewer and I.

We are all family and should exhibit love, rather than squabble over the family plot of land.
