Impeaching Cheney does sound like a grand idea!
Especially if they carry him off in shackless for some preliminary water sports.
I'd vote for him in a flash as far as his programme goes but as someone who tends to see "US political system" as a contradiction in terms I can't muster up great optimism that he will be the Democratic Candidate. :(
If someone can make a cogent explanation of how that could even be a possibility I would be delighted to read it.
And I mean for next year - not for some millenial future date!

Another good find jovial!
I am a big Dennis Kucinich fan. He is a lone wolf when it comes to going against the popular vote in Congress. And, he stands by what he says.
I like how Kucinich is addressing health care, the Iraq War, and impeachment of Cheney and what he has to say about these topics. I hope impeachment includes Bush at some point.
Dennis seems to be in touch with the true feelings of the American public and is willing to listen were others just speak rhetorically.
Kucinich for President and cowbowgrandpa or jovial for VP!

DarkWizard: Thank you for the heads up and jovial excellent article. Thanks for the good thouhgts. I sir would see you as a worthy candidate, along with BravoSierra, MonkeyBiz, jovial, AntiNeoCon,....... I agree we need to take America back. Dennis Kucinich now has my vote. He is making sense where the others are floundering in the degrees they are different from Bush. The others are trying to show how much better they would be in comparison to Bush. Hell a monkey with a rubber stamp can do that. Kucinich saying he wants medical care that is not for profit. That is refreshing. A non profit organization would be welcomed as it would still allow reinvestments into research and development. No shareholders to answer to. I can hear the Ultra Cons now. Socialistic, communistic. No. How about realistic. Why should any profit off of sickness and suffering. If you think one should you are one miserable excuse for a human being.

Me too, but Kucinich is right to go for Cheney first. He has even less support than Bush. And just imagine the nightmare scenario. They try to impeach both and Bush goes but Cheney survives to take over as President!

Hey I'm serious. It's time for the people to take back THEIR government and have true representation. Who better than some of us here on Propeller to fill government posts?
We may not know the specifics of the jobs, but we do know what the people want. The people want to be heard and not be at the mercy of big business. Big business sees people as a liability and not an asset. It is time people were treated like humans instead of a detriment to bottom line profits.
It is time for the Constitution of America to mean something again in government and not just an inconvenient piece of paper that gets in the way of ruling with an iron fist. America will not regain its standing in the world market or as a world power if We The People don't get back to some common sense governing and business practices.

Well that would put me in a quandary on who to vote for. Maybe they'd extend a hand across party lines. I wouldn't care which was which. Both would be good for this country.

Hypotheticals:
If Ron Paul is lucky enough to get the GOP nomination and Hillary Clinton is the Democratic nominee, Paul will get my vote.
If Paul is lucky enough to get the GOP nomination and if Dennis Kucinich is lucky enough to be the Democratic nominee, Kucinich will get my vote. In fact, if Hillary Is NOT the Dem nominee, I will vote for the Democrat, no matter who it is. In a race between Hillary and Rudy Giuliani, I'll go third party...

Thanks Jovial for posting this timely submission.
Today is the last day to let Washington know that we want Cheney censured and thrown out of office. He's abused his power, betrayed his country, and is responsible for mayhem and bloodshed. This is "a no brainer," as Darth Cheney likes to say.
Kucinich is the only candidate that comes close to representing my views; he is also one of the few Democrats willing to stick his neck out, go over Polosi's head, and call for the impeachment of Dick Cheney.
Many of us are contacting their
representatives (not Senators) to tell them to support Kucinich's resolution to impeach Dick Cheney, H.Res. 333:
These are the toll free numbers:

Benedict Arnold's "moral failure lay not in his disenchantment with the American cause" as many other officers returned to civilian life disgusted with the republican lack of virtue and angry over their failure to win a guaranteed pension from Congress.
His infamy stemmed not from his transfer of allegiance to the British side, while other Patriots chose to become Loyalists, sometimes out of principle but just as often for personal gain.
But Arnold's treachery rested in the abuse of his position of authority and trust: he would betray West Point and its garrison "and if necessary the entire American war effort" to secure his own success.
His treason was not rooted in principle or ideology; it was simply for greed and power, which he never lived down. Despised in America as a consort of "Beelzebub ... the Devil," Arnold was treated with contempt even in Britain, where he died as he lived, a man without honor.
Cheney is worse.

Dennis Kucinich is the candidate I agree with the most. But I'm afraid I'll be voting for John Edwards in the primary. Of the top tier, Edwards is the candidate I believe can pass Hillary. It all depends on Iowa and New Hampshire.
Ideally, we'd have a Gore/Kucinich ticket. Now I would vote for that in a heartbeat!

While watching CNBC a little while ago, I saw my first "Gore for President" commercial. It referred people to a website, draftgore.com, that you might find interesting.
I will confess that I am not an Al Gore fan, largely based on the fact that I have personally known the man for some twenty-five years, and my friends and I in the Tennessee Democratic Party have been badly used by him. Because he has alienated so many, he could not even carry his home state in 2000.
But this is the first indication I have seen that Gore supporters are well-organized enough to begin an effort in his behalf. Perhaps they think that the primaries will produce no consensus candidate, or perhaps they believe that public affection for Gore is strong enough to help bring about that impasse, but they have made a beginning. We'll look for more to see if this has any legs.

In California, we are a lot more non-traditional than most. It's not like Iowa or even New hampshire. So it may not be indicative of the mood of the country, but it is quite a surprise.

Charlson,
I'd have to agree with jovial's comment about a non-traditional sentiment coming from Californian's in this poll. I wish that more of the States would follow suit and realize the voting Red or Blue is making us Black and Blue in the eye! Yes, America has a big black-eye from getting punched too many times by these arrogant and self-serving politicians.
I'm sorry if my vote takes away from another candidate that might be better than the Republican choices that could win because I voted for a candidate that's good for America instead of the lesser of two evils, but I have to live with myself every day and look in the mirror.
Edwards, Obama, and Clinton will give us more of the same wrapped in different packages with nicer words, but I'm not falling for it anymore. The Republican candidates have Ron Paul as their dark horse and I hope he stands a chance against the other runners in the Evil Empire.

The democratic party is no prize, but in comparison...one good look at what the Republican Party has done to this country (and all 50 states) in the past seven years should be enough of a deterrent to put a democrat in the white house and to give the boot to more Republican legislators.
There is no honor among these thieves.
Regardless of party affiliation, complicit loyalty to a rogue and lawless administration that has betrayed the Amerian people will be met with contempt coming next November. That's my prediction, even though I am not satisfied with the alternatives.
Our system of government is broken and it's failing to provide the representation and the choices that we need.

Because the MSM and the people who follow that media are only concerned with the most popular candidates...for the most part. There are probably 20% or better that realize there are other candidates to vote for and will do so (I'm pulling that number from previous elections with a viable third party candidate).
The majority will vote for the party they always vote for because of loyalty, political rhetoric, and party myths. Plus, they'll be told they're wasting their vote or aiding the "other" party if the vote for anyone else.

He's actually doing pretty well in many of the polls, but as DW says, it's the MSM. Hillary has them in her fist already.
Whenever I take one of those "Who should you vote for based on the issues" tests, Kucinich comes up first. The MSM like to paint him as too far left to be approachable, but that's not true by a long shot. He just says and does what the other candidates wish they could without ******ing off their handlers.
He's a true progressive, and he scares them as much as Ron Paul does as a libertarian. The corporatists don't want either one of them to come near the White House because they know they'd be back in a democracy posthaste!

I just read this on the Politico!
Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) plans to take to the floor of the House Tuesday and introduce a privileged resolution to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney. The privilege approach allows him to circumvent Democratic leadership, which opposes voting on the measure.
His resolution will be met with a motion to table it. A vote against the motion will be a vote in favor of impeaching Cheney â;; as Kucinich explains over and over in this YouTube clip taken from a presidential campaign stop.
An American Research Group poll this summer found more than half of Americans support his impeachment.
Regardless, the measure is expected to fail by a wide margin

Klarissa: "And it wll cost a lot of money for just a few months left in this term."
He can do a lot of damage in a few months. Anyway, this should not be a question of cost but right and wrong. It costs a lot to keep criminals in prison, but I'm sure you wouldn't suggest that they go free.
