Agree! Fear is the most powerful tool Bush & his gang have used to keep us beleiving in the 'boogie-man' when public opinion has hurt their support on Iraq, Afghanistan & the war on terrorism. Fear has now become a political platform for the GOP. Republicans have lost their minds by ignoring important issues that really matter to this country's survival: the falling of the US Dollar against other currencies, the economy, the huge trade deficit with Communist China and its 'Made in China' dangerous & deadly goods, the slippery slope of the housing market, and last but not least, health insurance for all Americans. Oh, I forgot to mention, WHERE IS BIN LADEN MR. PRESIDENT?

not a question of if, just a question of when.

bombing weddings, waterboarding people, putting lightsticks up their butts, masking them, attaching electrodes to them, sweeping them up and spiriting them away to secret prisons, kicking in doors in the middle of the night, grabbing husbands out of bed, making children cry, exposing naked muslim women to american troops, unwavering support for israel, stealing natural resources.

is this the way to reduce the threat?

"The alert said al Qaeda "hoped to disrupt the U.S. economy and has been planning the attack for the past two years."

How in the hell do you disrupt U.S. economy by attacking a mall or two? People will find other places to shop. Give us the alert, even if it's flimsy, and then it's up to us, the public, and law enforcement to be aware and alert.

But you have to wonder with the track record of this administration what election or legislation do they want? Might it have anything to do with the supplemental budget to the war?

I for one will be suiting up in my state-of-the-art body armour; you know, the kind the armed forces cant afford, and heading to my nearest shopping mall to max out all of my credit cards.

Hell, maybe I'll even get me a pair of his & her Hummers; as an American its my duty!

No worries, shouldn't be that many people in the malls this year anyway due to inflated energy cost. Sounds like what was going to be a rough holiday season for retailers is going to get worse. Now the people that can still afford to shop are going to be afraid too. Get ready to say howdy to the 2008 recession!

I read that there were 20, 000 security personel present at the Bhutto bombing in Pakistan. It did no good, and the bombing was one of the worst ever

so check at the borders, airports etc., and spare us these stupid vague pointless warnings. Unless every person is checked going into a mall before shopping, WTF's the point? an airplane for instance is a small space and regulation of that space is easier than a mall

What haunts me is thinking, what if after the 'Bin Laden determined to strike using aircraft' memo, our prez decided to hire about 20 million dollars worth of air marshals to put on planes, intead of pointlessly spending trillions after the fact?

course Condi would have to have remembered reading that memo, etc.

Bush and Cheney have exploited the terrorist threat to their political advantage, which by now has become a disadvantage, because despite all of his hyperbole, his war making, and his posturing Al Qeada is as big a threat now as it was on 9/10/01.

Al Qaeda will blow up all the Wienerschitzel stores because of the pork content. They will leave the Linens and Things alone. They think it is a muslim clothing store.

              Victoria Secret? Your guess.

mmmm I don't know how credible is this threat... well after 9/11 every holiday season we heard this. I am not trying to fall prey to 'crying wolf' syndrome. This is what Bush/Cheney did all through their time in power, keep America under constant threat. I doubt Al-Qaeda was ever strong like what these conservative clans were saying. Look at even 9/11 those guys had only box cutters and tapes, little training.. and 9/11 happened because of ignorance the Bush adminstration...(or was it deliberate?) The point is.... look back at all the arrests made around the world, only where conservatives are in power where there were big arrests of the so called Al-Qaeds guys, it all looks like they are targeting muslims. That is the hidden truth. FBI, CIA and other organizations are getting used by criminal conservatives.

Al Qaeda is just going to have to get in line. Angry shoppers will be slugging it out for the last "must have" Elmo toy or PSP game, or Wii. Then you have all the angry brats from the year before sending death threats to Santa and his elves. One year I worked at a toy store in the mall during Christmas and there were times I found my self wishing some of those toy guns were real. The reality is that if some suicide bomber showed up on the first holiday christmas sale, he would get trampled hundreds of cosumer shoppers trying just to get through the doors. If the terrorist have any kind of sense they wouldnt mess with the american consumer during the holiday season. Cries for Thomas the Train, X-Box, and the next hopping Tiger will make cries of Jihad look pretty weak in comparison.

The reason they have not attacked here in the US yet is really quite simple. They know that the American people are fickle and self-centered. The moment attacks start here you will hear a cry for vengeance rise up from all across the land, even from even the most liberal of liberals. We will see those attacks here in the US all in mass when those in power in Iran & Syria think they are fully prepared to destroy Israel and ready & able to take what we will deliver.

With the Bush economy in full swing, these guys may be the only ones at the malls. Remember Sept12th? Bushes rally cry was spend, spend, spend. Not this Christmas season, thanks George.

Attention Terrorist. If you have to blow yourselves up in our malls, can you please make sure you take out some of those cell phone stands where they try to sign you up. Bonus points for people with clipboards taking questionaires, loud rude crying little toddlers, those weird clothing places blaring loud techo music, and those dudley-doo-right looking cop wanta-bees mall security guards that have to be in your business. You are pentalized for blowing up Chikafilets (even if they are mormon), Cinabuns, and Coffe shops. You know if you even touch a Ms. Fields cookie shop, your just asking for the entire middle east to get nuked.

Maybe the warnings will force strict security provisions at the malls giving Strip Mall a new twist in meaning.

what im waiting to see is this, all these warnings are going out and people will ignore them, then if something does happen people will say that not enough was done, And the left Will once again Blame Bush for not taking care of the problem. I hope nothing happens and nothing probably will happen but im gald they are putting out warnings. if it makes people aware to their surrondings then it is a good thing.

I can't imagine that similar memos are in the daily e-mails to ALL malls in the country.

Meanwhile, the U.S. has nearly its entire army stationed in the back waters of Iraq.

Meanwhile the U.S. is depleting its credit in order to secure Iraq for the Oil profiteers

Meanwhile the U.S. is printing money to try to keep it's economy even looking OK.

Meanwhile a few idiots still say "Good Job Bush"

I think the Bush administration has lost its credibility. Sometimes they issue warnings ahead of time; other times they claim they have thwarted many attacks in the past - attacks they did not issue warnings about. Can't have it both ways and expect people to believe.

Here's the other big news: FBI: Al Quida MIGHT NOT strike malls anywhere in the U.S. during the Xmas season.

It's pretty bad when even the Feds who are releasing this "non-news" admit they have NO credible information about a specific threat. The even stupider thing is that Al Quida thinks that knocking off part of a shopping center or two would have much effect. There are HUNDREDS of shopping centers, and unless they can also disrupt the internet blowing up one or two isn't going to keep the little kiddies from having Xmas toys.
