As ever, thoughtful readers should reserve judgment on any matter like this until the actual evidence is in. This is particularly true when obscure politicians begin grandstanding for the media. A number of these televangelists are perfectly capable of generating immense incomes through sales of books, records, DVD/CD's and the like without subtracting a dime from church contributions. They have the most perfect right to do do. Outraged non-customers of these entertainers demand that successful purveyors of religion should be poor. Why? I seldom listen to these guys, but the same can be said of hip-hop geeks. Judge media talking heads and impecunious politicians harshly.

Again, I say why give your money where it isn't needed. They have riches beyond belief. One minister said that the church bought him a Rolls Royce. Why? Does Jesus need bling? I don't think so.
Give your money to a local church who desperately needs it. A small community church could do a lot with $100 plus you get to see it in action right away. $100 is a drop in the bucket to a "megachurch" and most likely will pay for administration.
Power corrupts. And these people are powerful.
