Posted by: BronxBomber 1 year, 11 months agoThe new, improved Web won't deserve that name until sites make clear what they do with your private data. And online tech support gets a lot better. And... In its relatively short life, the World Wide Web has already made many of our most mundane, tedious tasks quicker and easier to perform.

Nov. 23, 2007, 10:49 a.m.E mail spam, jagoff flamers, and spammers who link, and invade post's are on my top three. I wholeheartedly agree that some sort of authoratative body needs to be formed to make sure that the Web gets regulated to stop these annoyances.

Nov. 23, 2007, 11:49 a.m.Good find BB! thanks for posting.
Great analysis.
For me the most fundamental issue is the compatibility one.
Its great that Firefox has managed to work its way up in importance so that it almost has equal usage-standing with IE.
But as someone who wouldn't even consider having IE on my computer I also like to use Safari and I used to use Opera quite a bit but with mixed results.
Ticket mark-ups and e-book prices seem scandalous.
Above all I think it should be a priority to allow users to have complete control over what comes onto their screen - this would also help with protecting young people from dubious content.
Re spam e-mail: Virtually nothing gets past my g-mail but I would like to see a much more active regime to wipe it out altogether though obviously that's very difficult when a perpetrator can be hidden anywhere on the planet plus one person's spam may be another person's favourite reading..

Nov. 23, 2007, 11:45 a.m.I like the idea of getting an authoratative body!
If the job of president of the body is up for grabs i'd like to apply for it:)

Nov. 23, 2007, 11:49 a.m.Online ads (over commercialization) is my main gripe. Fortunately this is quelled with AdBlock Plus both in Netscape and Firefox.

Nov. 23, 2007, 12:32 p.m.My number one gripe is people who send me links to stupid stories like this,,,,,Just kidding BronxBomber, some good information on the article, thanks for the invite, keep em coming. I use Fire Fox on this site for the fact it has spell check but I find sometimes it freezes and I have to reload and lose what I typed in. Thats why I copy any large posts before submitting. Does any one else have that problem?

Nov. 23, 2007, 3:19 p.m.Trolls, and spam, program add-ins...oh my!
Yes, there a many annoying things on the Internet, but I have found programs that eliminate almost all those issues. Of course, there seem to be some issues you can never get totally rid of.

Nov. 24, 2007, 1:24 a.m.Bloggers are the same as spammers. I hate both of them, but bloggers are need more serious intrusion of Governing body. As bloggers wasted much more time that may be devoted to more useful matter - education, painting, science and classic music. Blogging is full equal shopping, while spam is just sort of marketing.

Nov. 24, 2007, 3:19 a.m.All good ones, but my personal pet peeve didn't even make the list. I just HATE top-10 lists because my top pick in NEVER even on the list! Oh the pain of being peculiar. :)
