A Jock answered: I've been in his position before. It sucks. In my case, she chose another guy and I went the friends route to stay in the game (and to snipe at the other guy any chance I got). But I eventually decided to salvage my pride and move on.

'Can you really be friends after a breakup?'

Not Really, Too difficult in the long run....

Time to move on and look at it as a Blessing in disguise...

In many situations this is the best thing that could have happened!!!

Actually, I am still friends with several of my ex-girlfriends. I would be friends with a few more, but my girlfriend does not approve of them.

It is usually a bit hard at first. Its best to wait until the emotions clear. That way you can be relatively sure it stay just friends, otherwise it may become a bit creepy for one party or the other or even both.

Why would anyone want to remain friends with someone who hurt them very deeply? Move on after you've had a chance to heal...that way you won't bring more baggage into another relationship.
