Best-selling fantasy author Terry Pratchett has been diagnosed with a rare form of early onset Alzheimer's, he said in a message posted to his illustrator's Web site.

I haven't read any of Pratchett's work, but its always sad when you hear about things like this.

I hadn't heard. Pratchett is a fun author, I've read a couple Discworld novels. He sounds like he's taking the news in the best possible way. Best wishes to him.
