After months of bitter legal wrangling, Peter Jackson, New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc have agreed to make two movies based on the book "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Not just one, but two movies!. this is going to be sweet. Should be a good six hours of the hobbit once directors cut's come out of them.

It seems Jackson is likely just a producer, so I'm interested how they'll choose as director.

Awesome. Two movies.
Have to wonder what they're going to do with the second one. I mean, will it take 2 movies to tell the story of the hobbit, or are they venturing into new territory?
