Though a pathalogic lier, Bush claims to be "Born Again". To prove it he claims "God" told him to invade Iraq...You are not scared by insanity like that? Bush is the most dangerous "Christian" on the face of the earth, and the Republican Party is goose-stepping behind him.

I won't vote for or against this story. I agree with you that there are certin things this author claims that are against my beliefs. He has just enough truth sprinkled in with his other facts to make it sound plausible.
That said. There are some truths in what he said. There are some in the extreme right whose Christianity is dominated by hatred of all except the ones who are like them.
I think this piece is equally hard for either side to defend.

If we are waiting for someone to give us a perfect interpretation of the grave troubles facing this nation, we will have to rely on devine intervention.
Perhaps God would like us to use our "free wills' to learn how to live with each other in peace.

One of the signs of the end times is for everyone to cry out for peace. They will be so desperate for it they will be ready to go along with the devil to make peace. I see this time getting here soon. More war and blood spilled world wide will hasten the coming of the end times.
We are starting to see the financial woes that are coming, the famines have been happening as well as the droughts. The increase in storms and natural disasters all these are foretold.
Watch for the one ruler in the world that all turn to. Beware of the one who comes in the name of light bearing darkness. For he is truly a man of evil bent on the destruction of the Jews with whom he will make a false covenant. Allowing them to rebuild the temple only to enter into the Holy of Holies seat himself and declare himself God to be worshipped.
You may not believe this. But watch and if it happens flee. For it is the anti-christ.

But, maybe, just maybe, and I am going out on a limb here, we are talking about the two thousand year old superstitious ravings of a bunch of primitive nomads and it is purely ridiculous to worry about their obscure prognostications one way or another.

Much more than two thousand... that was jesus, they weren't nomads.
You're thinking of the story book of rape, incest, slavery and generally stupid people going delirious, all written up as a basis of "religion".
I feel sorry for anyone who finds any "truth" in the old testament.

cowboygrandpa, on a more serious note: only a third of the world's population are followers of the New Testament. According to your beliefs, will the other two thirds accept the Antichrist as God? Why would they do so when they don't accept Jesus as God?
"Religions: Christians 33.03% (of which Roman Catholics 17.33%, Protestants 5.8%, Orthodox 3.42%, Anglicans 1.23%), Muslims 20.12%, Hindus 13.34%, Buddhists 5.89%, Sikhs 0.39%, Jews 0.23%, other religions 12.61%, non-religious 12.03%, atheists 2.36% (2004 est.)"

Candida:
The world is always searching for signs and wonders. The anti-christ will be able to "so called" miracles like call fire down from the sky. He will survive an attack that will leave him as seemingly dead. Yet he will come back to life. Many will think he is the Christ for all the good he will seem to do. None will be able to make war with him. He will deny Cristianity as that would not allow him to be the Christ. This world is looking for a leader to lead them. They have not accepted the ways of life. They seek to have things their way. At first this leader will seem good until he declares war on all who will not receive his mark.
I have nothing to gain by saying these things except to try to save even one person from the coming destruction. I have no agenda as I am not rich, not powerful, not seeking office, not seeking to control anyone-Jesus is my master-so I have nothing personal to gain. Just the gift that Christ offers all.

You do sound sincere, but I think you are mistaken. I don't think the world is looking for a leader. People simply want to live their lives. All I wish for is a little less greed and a little more cooperation; definitely not a leader of any sort. We already have too many leaders and too many followers. We should try to increase the number of thinkers.
