The End Of Israel? »
Posted by: hyperbola 1 year, 11 months agoAs a Jewish-American, I know that while it might be scary to some, while it will require a lot of imagination, the end of Israel as a Jewish state could mean the beginning of democracy, human rights, and some semblance of justice in a land that has almost forgotten what that means.

Dec. 23, 2007, 3:38 p.m.I am feeling optimistic about Palestine.
I know it sounds crazy. How can I use "optimistic" and "Palestine" in the same sentence when conditions on the ground only seem to get worse? Israeli settlements continue to expand on a daily basis, the checkpoints and segregated road system are becoming more and more institutionalized, more than 10,000 Palestinian political prisoners are being held in Israeli jails, Gaza is under heavy attack and the borders are entirely controlled by Israel, preventing people from getting their most basic human needs met.
We can never forget these things and the daily suffering of the people, and yet I dare to say that I am optimistic. Why? Ehud Olmert. Let me clarify. Better yet, let's let him clarify:
"The day will come when the two-state solution collapses, and we face a South African-style struggle for equal voting rights. As soon as that happens, the state of Israel is finished."

Dec. 23, 2007, 10:10 p.m.It seems supernatural to me that Israel is still in existence when all those countries that surround it have so many people believing the world is divided between "dar al-Islam" and "dar al-harb". CERTAINLY most view a non-Islamic entity as Israel as "dar al-harb", or, "the House of War", because, under this Islamic concept, ANY territory that ISN'T under Islamic control is considered being in the "House of War", or, "dar al-harb". Of course, those who believe such a concept will lie and say this is NOT true, and, they will have no problem saying otherwise, because IN Islam "war is deception", thanks to surahs 3:28 and 16:106, allowing the Muslim to lie to the perceived infidel.

Dec. 24, 2007, 4:15 p.m.> What exactly is supernatural about it? The modern state of Israel is not even sixty years old and it was created and maintained by force of arms in which Israel enjoys the superior advantage.
Well, considering that the Arab states at war with Israel enjoy population (and, therefore, potential size of their militaries) which is 50 times higher and territory that is 500 times larger than Israel and taking into account the practically unlimited amount of military assistance these Arab states received from the USSR the answer to this question becomes obvious... or does it?
After all, you would not be surprised if Cuba attacked the US and won, would you?

The "end of Israel as a Jewish state" could mean only one thing: transforming it into an Arab state. I agree that is will require a lot of imagination to claim that such transformation could mean the beginning of democracy, human rights, and some semblance of justice. After all, how many democracies, human rights and justice are there in the Arab countries?

Dec. 25, 2007, 10:58 a.m.> Well, many moslem countries have a better record than Israel.
> Israel's Jewish Problem in Tehran
Well, let's look at the "Jewish Problem in Tehran". Are you aware that since the Islamic Revolution the population of Iranian Jews DECREASED by 80%?
If so would you claim that Israel's record would become better if the number of Israeli Arabs (it was about 400,000 at the time) decreased similarly to 50,000 or would you cry "bloody murder" instead?

I'm aware that in case an Iranian Jew said something good about Zionism he/she would sign his/her death sentence by doing it.
Are YOU aware about it?
