Presidential Primary Stupidity: Say No To NH & Iowa: Yes To...Sheboygan? »

Argument against NH & Iowa kicking off Presidential primary-caucus season -- including a (mostly tongue-in-cheek) suggested alternative, which is really no more senseless than the current Iowa-NH "first" process.

    Yes, some place in the United States must come first when choosing the next president. We could have as easily picked New Jersey or Pennsylvania, or for that matter run alphabetically and begin with Alabama and Alaska. Imagine if suddenly Alaska were thrust into the limelight! Iowa is as good a state as any, I suppose. Though ideally, if we want to see how regions of the country are trending, why not divide the nation into 6 regions. Select one state from each region and let them have their primaries all in the same month. Not a national primary, and it allows the candidates enough time to zig zag across the country.

      An execellent idea, David. We all want a say in who the next president is going to be, and that includes sorting through the choices for the nominations.

            I say let the Iowans vote in ALL the primaries. After all, they know best.
