Barack Obama's Racist Church »
Posted by: rockman069 1 year, 12 months agoImagine if Mitt Romney's church proclaimed on its website that it is "unashamedly white." The media would pounce, and Romney's presidential candidacy would be over. Yet that is exactly what Barack Obama's church says on its web site Ã;¢ââ;;¬" except in reverse.

Jan. 7, 2008, 4:47 p.m."In sermons and interviews, Dr. Wright has equated Zionism with racism and Israel with South Africa under its previous policy of apartheid. On the Sunday after 9/11, Wright said the attacks were a consequence of violent American policies. Four years later, Wright suggested that the attacks were retribution for America's racism."
Extremism is demonstrated on so many fronts. Here is another one.

Jan. 7, 2008, 5:27 p.m.I just don't trust him....simple as that. I just have a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach when I see him. I really hope he doesn't become president.

Jan. 7, 2008, 6:23 p.m.I think EVERYONE needs to leave race out of the presidential election! Bottom Line!
So what if Obama's church professes to be black, that's probably nothing compared to what's being said in the confines of other peoples homes!

Jan. 7, 2008, 6:28 p.m.It is not that his church "professes to be black"..it is that his church is only black..and only supports the African history..and culture.

Jan. 7, 2008, 6:42 p.m.Ok let me put an end to something before it goes to far...I dont care what color Obama is..I dont care what religion he is...what I care about is the honesty to which a person running for the president of the united states upholds..I am perfectly willing to accept the idea that Obama is a christian...I really dont care..what is he going to do next? Will he risk offending the Muslim community by condemming the actions of the extremist...he must be willing to put the interst of this country first..

Jan. 7, 2008, 6:48 p.m.I'll wait to see what those in the 'other' extreme religious views are the bane of the world thread has to say on this topic before I make up my mind. Anyone want to make odds on them even visiting this thread?

Jan. 7, 2008, 6:59 p.m.I guess the real question here is, how far can Obama distance himself from his church before it really begins to hurt him?

1-2-Oscar
Jan. 7, 2008, 7:17 p.m.I have not been a member of any denomination or congregation for many, many years, but I have attended services in a variety of churches during that time. I occasionally attended Trinity United Church Christ in Bartlett, TN during the 1980s, because the minister was a personal friend. It was a very traditional (and moderate) church experience, and one of the few racially mixed churches in Shelby County.
The "United Churches of Christ," I might mention, are not associated with the "Church of Christ," which is much more fundamentalist in its doctrines and worship. In fact, the United Churches of Christ are part of a larger association which includes the United Methodist Churches, whom they closely resemble.

Jan. 7, 2008, 8:30 p.m.BO (Barack Obama) touts himself as the 'time for a change' candidate. Change for who? Does this mean we can look forward to brothers Jesse and Al, and maybe even Oprah as policy makers for America? If these are the folks you want running our government I feel sorry for you. If you think the country is divisive now under Bush just imagine what would happen if BO gets elected.

Jan. 7, 2008, 8:42 p.m.Probably at least 95% of the black vote will go for Obama. There is no way republicans will change their mind. Why should the republicans even care about the black vote.
-

OldHickory
Jan. 7, 2008, 8:54 p.m.The majority of blacks see only black, which is where your '95%' comes from. I could give a good rip about who anyone votes for but they should do their homework first and not vote for anyone based on emotion. I will reiterate what I said in my previous post:"if you think the country is divisive now..."
The riots in Watts and after Rodney King were small potatoes.

Jan. 7, 2008, 9:03 p.m.This is very troublesome. This will be used and probably very soon. Hillary is just waiting for the right moment and out of nowhere this will come. Won't be connected to Hillary but will come from there all the same.
