Exactly. Obama is a great candidate, but he will not take the presidency. To all those who support McCain and Clinton, congratulations.

After watching this, I'm not going to say anything about who will take the presidency, lol But if this doesn't show people who don't bother to vote that they DO have the power of politicians, nothing will.

        David,

First, I join you in congratulating those who support John McCain and Hillary Clinton. But with due respect, I vehemently disagree that Barack Obama could not take the presidency. I have looked at this race from all angles (and I'll admit that I have been able to predict this race about as accurately as the the pundits have - which is to say I haven't been able to predict accurately), but here goes:

Hillary Clinton had great organization on the ground in NH and it worked to her benefit. We still have Michigan, Nevada, South Carolina, and Florida to go before February 5th. How these races will turn out is anybody's guess.

I will say this: If McCain is the GOP nominee and Hillary the Democrat, Hillary loses in November. If Obama is the Democratic nominee, McCain loses. Why? Because, Obama is activating young America to vote more than any other candidate since John F. Kennedy. And unlike the 1960 vote, those 18-20 can vote in 2008. This could make a huge difference.

McCains message is still pro-war, stay the coarse, and let the deficits roll. He offers nothing new and perhaps mirrors Bush policy closer than any other candidate. He won't get elected.

            Scott,

Just one minor correction. Obama is not contesting in Michigan so that will not tell the difference in peoples opinions. He is instead spending his efforts in So. Carolina among others.

              Scott,

I understand how you feel, I really do. However, I said nothing about him being incapable or unable to win the presidency. He is fully capable. What I said is that he WILL not win. I am predicting that he will lose, if nominated. I prefer Edwards and Kucinich, but I have my doubts that either will get even as much as one primary or caucus victory.

I understand what you are saying. But I still say that, should Obama be nominated, he beats any Republican in the race by a significant margin. And I don't think there are enough racists in my part of the country to keep him from winning most of the states down here. That is the legacy left by the buffoon currently residing in the White House.

I want to believe that. I really do. If Obama gets the nomination, he gets my vote. Frankly, I could live with any of the 3 candidates on the Democratic side.

Eh, you mentioned Michigan, but you should know that because of the fact that Michigan moved its primary date contrary to DNC rules, they have been stripped of their delegates. Hence, Hillary Clinton is the only one of the top 3 Democratic candidates on the ballot there. Both Obama and Edwards withdrew from the race there.
