Propeller Week In Review: January 11, 2008 »
Posted By JamesMarcus 1 year, 10 months ago in NewsNot surprisingly, the New Hampshire primary took center stage this week at Propeller. But our community also sounded off about Obama's church, Iran's navy, and some exciting news on the astronomical front.

I missed it too, sumpt, and did the same thing (but hours later) -- checked back through the whole thread. ybdogst's contributions were immaculate as always -- fair drove old FSU from the board, with the usual armfuls of 'negs'.
Enjoy these weekly reviews, JM. They must be pretty time-consuming to compile.

Well, since we are reflecting on the week, perhaps it is germane to note that the week's most popular story (iran and the navy) turned out to be mostly deceptive.
U.S. military inflicts more damage on its own credibility
News â;; It seems increasingly clear that the U.S. military's initial claims about its interaction with those five Iranian speed boats in the Strait of Hormuz was exaggerated in significant ways, approaching Jessica Lynch/Pat Tillman/Iraq-is-going-great territory.

Official Version of Naval Incident Starts to Unravel
WASHINGTON, Jan 10 (IPS) - Despite the official and media portrayal of the incident in the Strait of Hormuz early Monday morning as a serious threat to U.S. ships from Iranian speedboats that nearly resulted in a "battle at sea", new information over the past three days suggests that the incident did not involve such a threat and that no U.S. commander was on the verge of firing at the Iranian boats...

Thanks for your recap for the week.
Hmm...I'm not so sure "our community 'sounded off' about Obama's church" with 49 members sinking the story.
On the other hand, Propeller could sure teach Diebold and New Hampshire about voting.
This week was a first for me; endoscopy and I actually agreed on something. (but don't tell him)

The confrontation with the Iranian speedboats was not exaggerated. It was as ridiculous as the 2004 fat nosed bin Laden. I quote: "I dunno -I'd expect any Frenchman to correctly identify Inspector Clouseau's fake accent..." http://cernigsnewshog.blogspot.com/2008/01/iran...

My reviews of the week:
. What will McCain and Guiliani would do if peace transcends on earth? No countries to invade and no wars to start.
. Iranian gun boats and US navy. Is it a coincidence that this fabrication occurred when the cowboy is visiting Israel?
. Marion Jones sent to prison. I would like to see some baseball millionaires sent there. Will it ever happen? No. Looking back at Leona Helmsely, (in)justice in your country is very much male oriented.
. McCain spoke like he won the Presidency. Warmonger needs know that there are 48 more states left.
. US Navy & CIA have tapes of US fabricated Iranian gunboat controversy. What happened to the torture videos?

James your recaps are so evenhanded and well done. Have you considered an independent run for the presidency? You may not have Bloomberg's money (heck I don't know maybe you do../ but don't tell him) or Ross Perot's inspiring good looks (Good grief be thankful)or even the unclouded mental viscosity of Lyndon LaRouche (again be thankful) but dare I say you could count on us propellerheads to vote for you even if your campaign has no content whatsoever. LOL :-)
(Nice work, please continue!)

Hey, a quick shout out to everyone to let everyone know that good old SageParadox/KMFDM is still alive. My lungs havent given out yet, but they are slowly trying to get there. I should be on the list at the end of the month for a double lung transplant, in which they are hoping to be done by the end of the year. Sorry for the interruption, please continue with the topic at hand.
